ProScan model 52690 will not stay on!

52" ProScan will not keep power on. Press the power button and it does power on, (you can hear it power on and see some life in the screen) but thenit clicks right off. It will repeat to turn itself on and then off again 3 times and that's it. Until of course you press the power button again and same result.

We performed a recommended test for the HV Splitter and the results of that proved it to be a bad splitter so we ordered and new one. $125.00 later and still the same problem.......any ideas?

How do you hook up a Sony DVD player to a proscan tv 52 inch screen.

HDMI cable normally. Then you use the source button on the remote to display input from that HDMI Port.

Older models have 3 RCA plugs called composite Video. help videos in the link.

My tablet says to enter decrypted password but i never set one up

PLEASE NOTE THIS INSTRUCTINS IS FOR FACTORY RESET
BY DOING THIS ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED

The paperclip is used to activate the reset button in this small hole; You will hear and feel a click of the inside button, in less than 15mm of insertion. Do not force unduly!
1. Insert paperclip, until you hear the click of the button. Keep paperclip inserted, and press and hold the black power button.
2. In about 10 seconds the blue PROSCAN screen will appear. Continue to keep black power button held, and release paperclip.
3. A few seconds later you will see an Android 'guy' lying on his back with belly open, and a red triangle (with !) symbol hovering above his belly. Release power button. This means we are on the verge of being able to break things. Note that after a minute or so, if no further action is taken, the tablet will shut down, and then be restarted normally.
4. Press and hold power button. Insert and remove paperclip. You will see a screen titled Android system recovery. (Note that repeated insertion of the paper clip will alternate the display of the Recovery menu). Release power button.
5. Use paperclip to scroll down the list of options. To reset the tablet, selectwipe data/factory reset. Press power button to make the selection. (If you go past the desired option, keep on clicking, as the selection will scroll back to the top once at the bottom).
6. Once reset has been selected, you are now at the final chance to back out or commit. All the menu items, except for one are labeled No. To commit to the reset, select Yes - delete all user data and then press power button.......FOUND ON ZOLYGON.COM

Can't put password in tablet

You will need: A clip. Open out the clip. find the tiny reset hole (see photo). Note that this is often not the tagged 'reset' button on the rear of the tablet. tablet must be be off (and a minimum of five hundredth charged) at this time. http://screencast.com/t/bm5WvA0cWIP The clip is used to activate the button in this little hole; you may hear and feel a click of the within button, in but 15mm of insertion. don`t force unduly! 1. Insert clip, till you hear the clicking of the button. Keep clip inserted, and press and hold the black power button.

Note that once a second more or less, if no more action is taken, the tablet can shut off, then be restarted normally.
4. Press and hold power button. Insert and take away clip. you may see a screen titled android system recovery. (Note that recurrent insertion of the clip can alternate the show of the Recovery menu). unleash power button. http://screencast.com/t/TSnhaLpk2kE
5. Use clip to scroll down the list of choices. To reset the tablet, choose wipe data/factory reset. Press power button to confirm the choice. (If you go past the specified choice, carry on clicking, because the choice can scroll back to the highest once at the bottom).

Proscan big screen no power will not start up

If you hear it trying to start up (usualy you'll hear a slight hiss about 3times) than the problem is likely the High Voltage block - a very common fault with these sets- The block costs between $40-$100 and because Highvoltage is present should be replaced by an experienced technician. If you decide to do yourself let me know.

ProScan wont turn on

PS52690 52" projection TV (CTC188 series) that won't power up. From what I have read here and other places, the most common cause of this is the HV splitter. Actually, when the unit was 3 years old, the HV splitter went out and had to be replaced but it was under warranty at the time. I have found that the part I need is 205064 and runs around $40-$70
A post in another thread said that you could test to see if the HV splitter is really the problem by disconnecting the HV anode (big red wire) from the flyback (not the splitter since that will arc), plug the TV in, power it up, and if the power stays on and you hear sound, replace the HV splitter to fix the problem.
