High voltage splitter

My tv won't turn on, just the green light comes on on the front of the set. I understand it could be the high voltage splitter. Where would i get one and how much would it cost? Thanks!!

I have read on this forum that for the Proscan 60690 Chasis # PTK 188AC, the HV Splitter part # is 205064 and can be easily purchased on eBay for around $20.- $25.

I did some more research and read that generic brands weren't as reliable. I was recomended that installing an original RCA HV Splitter was recommended. Price is between $55. - $70. and sometimes out of stock. I may be in need on a replacement also depending the solution to my problem. I saw a link on a step by step replacement of the HV Splitter but the link no longer worked. If anyone has an updated on can they post it please?

    Good luck.

When testing the hv flyback by turning on the tv, if tv stays on the hv splitter block is bad ,but what if tv turns off what you check next? thanks for the help.

first, I think you have this backwards----if splitter disconnected (look for physical signs or arcing or it burnt) the High voltage would come up and sizzle where it connects to the splitter.

If the set with the splitter disconnected still shuts down it is not the issue---got a D52 of some kind?

The blinking of death.

set is trying to come on but not making it.

Most common issues with this model are bad connections around the high voltage transformer or on that same board.

A few will also have the High Voltage splitter at the very front of the set behind the front grill fail---a faint arc when you try to turn on.

My RCA HD52W59 problem

set is prone to two problems: high voltage splitter at front of set behind speaker grill arcs-------also set does have parts on HV board that do the same thing---HV transformer feeds voltage to the splitter.

My 50 inch rca tv wont turn on

The set has a shutdown circuit with ties to voltage and current being drawn inside the set--

Common dead set issues include:

broken solder connections at or around the high voltage transformer

Shorted or bad parts on same board as transformer

Bad High voltage Splitter block or the High voltage transformer

Convergence problems which usually do not stop set from coming on.

My 1995 rca model p5275at wount come on i push the on button and hear some buss like noise it does it three times and doesnt come on

This is a pretty old set-----if possible listen when you try to turn on---a brief moment of hissing or a frying sound may mean the High voltage splitter in the set has failed.

I have a RCA D52W20 52" HDTV Ready TV which I

Unplug High voltage lead from HV splitter. This is a red wire going from HV transformer to similar (white plastic) device located up front, between picture tubes. Disconnect the one which is coming in, by strong energetic pull down with pliers. Leave those which go to picture tubs in. Make sure that disconnected wire is far from other components or metal parts (high voltage - SEVERAL INCHES SPARK CAN OCCUR) Turn the unit on - if different than 3 blinks - the splitter is your problem.

How to remove high voltage distribution box rated at 250 volts this is problem with rca model p60923bl tv no power on press power on button tv clicks 3 times and turn off no picture.

If you are talking about the HV splitter in the front of the set----remove the front grill(screws behind set on either side) and then the inspection plate behind it----the splitter will have a red wire coming from the HV transformer and 3 more red wires going to each of the picture tubes--If the splitter is bad remove the wire from the high voltage transformer that goes into it(it should pull out and if may be hard to get it out) with it out and not touching anything (isolate it well clear of anything) the set should then come on and you should hear a hiss from the wire you removed---if the set stays on shut it off quickly and replace the block---most of them are available on the internet at a reasonable cost.
hope this was helpful.

How much do you know about electronics and can you solder? There is 1 sure way to find out if high voltage splitter is bad disconnected the Flyback transfomer from it /If set comes on and stays on splitter is bad.Make sure you place high votage lead from flyback where it cannot shock you.or short out anything near chassis. Also check little round blue capacitor behind Hori output they go bad 1200pf 2kvolts. This set i think has 2 STK392-??? big black ics if one of them is shorted set will not come on.Its up to you on fix or throw away

RCA Projection TV won't turn on

Ok you got you a Rca ITC222 I See ALOT of these things. To start the troubleshooting.. UNPLUG the set for a min of 30 min the plug back up. ( I have never seen this work) If the set stil fails to come on then you have a processor lockup. The first thing you can conclude if the light flashes is it is NOT a FUSE. THe sets processor has determined that a safety condition has occured and shuts it down to prevent further damage and fire. THe top cause of this include Horizontal output trasistor, flyback transformer and high voltage splitter. but There is about 25 different failures that can drive it into shut down. technicains have interface equipment that can read errors codes much like a car.
typical repairs on this set run 150 to 350... if you have to replace tubes...250 per tube +labor which runs 250 ... these set new cost 800 so unless under warrenty.. you got to determine if it is worth it.

52 in RCA

The T.V. has no lamp, it has 3 guns red, blue,& green. Unplug the lead that goes to the high voltage splitter(make sure t.v. is unplug). Then turn the t.v. back on if you hear the H.V. lead making a hissing sound continuously most likely the h.v. block needs to be replaced. Follow the lead from the flyback to the h.v. splitter, this will be the lead that unplugs at the splitter.

Proscan PS60690 1st turns off then on by itself. Then 3 on-off cy I've had this exact problem twice. The 1st time I replaced the RCA part number 205064, which I believe is called the HV splitter. I used a generic non RCA part. The TV worked great for several months but went out again and it has been broken for 2 years. I finally ordered the new true RCA part number 205064 HV splitter. The TV, again seemed to be fixed, and what I a beautiful picture it had through our cable box. But, no happy ending at this point. It worked for a couple of days and then turned off and back on while my wife was watching it a few minutyes ago. It cycled off then back on twice in a 3 minute period so with the picture showing and tv still on she went ahead and turned it off. This is how the problem began several years ago the 1st time it went out. I don't want to turn it back on anymore in case the brand new HV Splitter is still OK. Does anyone know what other parts may be going out, causing the HV splitters to go bad and start shorting out. I know the HV spitters have been an ongoing problem with these sets, but since I just put a brand new RCA one in only 2 days ago I'm wondering if something else goes out first and causes the splitter to go bad after a period of time. I would appreciate any help. I can't afford a new set right now and the picture looks so great on this set using a cable box I feel it's definately worth fixing. ps Could missing o-rings cause this? I've never seen the o-rings. Even the first time I replaced the HV Splitter. Thanks
