Thinkpad R60 auto-restarted when shutting down

This happened when the R60 is only running on battery. I tried changing the battery but it does not help at all. When on battery only, I can shutdown using the hard button, but cannot boot-up the system again until when I connect the AC power.

When the R60 operates with an AC power, it can shutdown properly. However, once the AC power source is unplugged, the system boot-up.

Sound not operating in R60 thinkpad with ubuntu desktop 9.x.x

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers and that the unit is installed properly. Has this card ever produced sound? Did it stop working all of a sudden? If so then you can try to roll back the drivers to a previous version. If nothing works then uninstall the device and optain the installation drivers from the manufacturer and attempt to reinstall the device over again.

T23 Thinkpad turns off during boot after restart

My guess would be ;-
A power supply problem with the battery and/or power adapter
The most likely one.
The CPU is overheating and shutting down and if you wait a while and it will power it up again, it will then run for a while and shut down again.
This can be caused by a faulty fan (its not spinning and needs to be replaced) or the vents are clogged with dust (needs to be cleaned and you may need to remove the fan assembly to do this).

Shuts down autometically

Also, have you changed anything lately? and, Did this just start happening out of the blue, or did something happen to cause this, ie... power failure, kicked the plug out, ran the battery completely dead, overheated, etc...?

IBM Think Pad T22 auto -shut down a few minutes

Try running it without the battery. Sometimes an IBM battery can develop a short and cause this. If it still does it without the battery, I'm afraid it's the power management chip on the motherboard, and the motherboard will need to be replaced.
