Replacing intake hose

We have a hoover conquest vac. and we got a new intake hose, black oblong accordion style in appearance, the one that takes it from the main body to the hard plastic bagless receptacle. Would like to know how to attach it. Thank you. Terry

Should be a clamp on each end to undo, then the hose will come off.

How do you clean build up out of hose? i do not find black seal under tank, anyone have a picture of it?

If you want to take the hose off you can just flush it with a garden hose or in a wash tub. Just back flow it a few times. All the parts are plastic and water proof you wont hurt it. The black seal I believe you are looking for is this:

Hello, I have a Hoover quadraflex Powermatic central vacuum system Model # s8099-031 that requires a new replacement 35 ft hose...I have contacted Hoover and they do not know where to buy a replacement...

Tammy, no info re your location, so I''l try this.
Your Hoover hose is shot because it was made of rubber. There are new swivel handled, tangle proof lighter hoses made of vinyl which will last much longer and can be adapted to the old Hoover head by changing the upper steel tube.
Find a Hoover service center, outlet in the yellow pages and ask for the "NEW "style, gray``Plastiflex`` brand hose and upper adapter tube sold with new Hoovers at Costco and you will be all set. Then, when the head eventually dies, you can upgrade to a far better one , while still having the Hoover cannister, the hose and tools do not need to match the original tank.

My Hoover upright vacuum runs but isn't picking up

Either it's clogged, has a broken belt, or the bag needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps.

MY hoover steam vac hand held hose cleaner leaks profusely

try taking a sharp knife and shaving a little off the edge of the plastic, or a small file if you can get to it, see if it is getting binded. If its getting stuck internally, you will have to replace the switch instead of risking takin it apart.

Brushes don't work on my hoover steam vac v2

The bearing on the inside of the turbine is rusted. You will have to take the hood of the unit and unscrew the black piece that has to rub hoses going to it. Then take apart the black turbine. Inside you will find 2 white gears and a small 1/2inch bearing. Use wd40 to uncease the bearing. After this put the take pliers and make sure the metal post will turn. Spray wd40 on everything you see including Hoover for making such ****. After this put put everything back together. Now the best thing to do is get some automotive bearing grease and put a large amount on bearing and and other metal parts. Put everthing back together. Clean any hair off the brushes and you are ready. Now the bad news if your gears are worn you will have to replace the turbine. Go to an internet website and the part number will be 91001019. I know all this because I spent 6 years working for Hoover and they found it cheaper to send our jobs overseas.

Clean water coming out of sides

Hoover SteamVac Ultra (model F5883-900) Threw it away, and had to buy a new machine. Sorry, but I found it more difficult to deal with the housing unit on the machine and just couldn't deal with it anymore. I hope you have better luck than I did with it. I couldn't find ANY help on ANY web sites for this model, just too old I guess.

How do you dismantle handle to replace aforementioned hose?
Swing arm on unit goes all the way to the floor. Is this normal? Is there a "stop" broken that caused the hose to stretch, and ultimately break?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover SteamVac Carpet / Upholstery Deep Carpet Cleaner.

There are handle screws that you can get into the handle and then you can back track the replace the interior hose for the cleaning attachment. There should not be a stop that caused the hose to stretch ad break. The hoses after a while do get old crack and break due from normal use or if the bend @ sharp angles, this is common among all vinyl vacuum cleaner hoses. You should really check with your local factory authorized Hoover vac dealer in your area or , please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hoover Steam Vac - water leaks

May be an "o" ring missing. Being brand new, it is under warranty, you have a 1 year warranty, so you may want to take it for repair.
