Hold the power button in on the computer for 5 seconds. Wait another 5 seconds. Now hit the power button as you normally would to turn the PC on. It should boot normally.

Unplug the power cable and wait 5-10 minutes and then plug it back in. Also, my original comment stated to hold the power button in for 5 seconds, and then hit it once normally, not just hold it for 5 seconds and thats it as you stated.

Sorry for not seeing your update.

Your power supply or motherboard needs to be replaced.

If you can do the work yourself, start with the power supply.

If you are not comfortable doing the work, consult a local computer shop for hardware diagnostics and replacement.

Go into power options, check to see if hibernate mode is enabled, uncheck box to the left to disable the feature, causes all kinds of problems from no startup to window file corruption, plus you free up a lot of disk space on the hard drive.

My computer...... an HP Pavillion a1630n..... was on this morning and I was working on it but the printer was not printing. I shut the computer down thinking it was just a glitch. However, when I pushed...

Behind every operation you do there is always an update that goes along with it. If you can re-open your computer and remove the power supply connector wait till 30 seconds and then reconnect the connector it will reset the motherboard for a moment and to sustain is to shut down the computer after the Windows Update completes the update on your system. A glitch will only happen when the system runs out of resources and then dumps everything into memory. If there is space in the memory then if not then it will crash definitely.

HP Pavillion desk top modela6683w stopped turning on

the first thing to do is to check the power cable, try using a different one, if its okay listen to hear if the cooling system(fan) is spinning, if not then its very likely to be your powerpac

HP Pavillion won't bring monitor back from sleep mode

hi...if u can read " no input signal" from ur screen, this means that ur monitor is ok..
Look if u have power buttons on ur keyboard.. try to wake it from there.. some pc may have shortcut keys to bring back the pc... look @ ur pc docs on the internet for more info...
However if it's a hardware issue, it may be that ur RAM memory needs to be cleaned

My HP Pav laptop just died (shut down on me) and wont turn on

1.remove the battery and disconnect the power cord from the laptop. 2.hold down the power button for 1 minute 3.now connect it only to the power cord.keep the battery away 4. as soon as you press the power button to turn it on, keep on tapping F8 key. 5. If you see advanced option, you can choose safe mode with networking and it hit enter. 6. now remove the security like Norton or macafee and scan it with malwarebytes(www.malwarebytes.com) 7. Now, restart the computer 8. If data is not important you can restore the computer to the factory setting, but all of the data would be lost. 9.to restore the xp computer start press F10 at the startup 10. to restore the vista computer start press F11 at the startup.

Hp pavillion dv7 won't power on

Same issue - solved by disconencting everything (main battery, CMOS battery, RAM, hard disk and wireless card). Held in power button for 20 seconds (HP say this removes any electostatic charge on the main board). Reconnected everything and machine booted to Windows. Ran HP's onboard diagnostics and everything checked out OK.

My hp desktop computer will not turn on

Most likely the power supply has failed. This is the device that the cord plugs into in the back of the computer. They can be purchased for around $20 - $50 depending on where you go. Then you just remove the four screws holding it in, remove all the internal plugins and reconnect the new power supply. Oh and please take a moment to rate this solution as fixya. Thanks! :c)
