SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite L310 problem , display cannot appears

If the screen went blank after the driver install, sometimes clicking the mouse on the screen will bring the picture back. It sounds like the monitor is having a conflict with the resolution the driver is throwing out. Reboot the laptop and when you see the Toshiba splash screen, tap F8 until you see the multiple boot menu. Scroll to Safe Mode with networking and reboot. If the screen comes up, go to the control panel > System > hardware > display adapter > click on the plus sign and double click the reported adapter.click on driver tab and select roll back driver > click yes to any prompts and click ok. Reboot normally and see if that clears the problem.

I changed my Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527's Vista operating system to windows 7 but afterwards, I have been experiencing microphone and speaker problems. My microphone is not working and my speaker volume...

Go to this website and select windows 7(32) or (64) depends on what version you are using then on the categories select sound and click Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)(v6.0.1.5904; 09-03-2009; 60.61M) then click the red download now button to start downloading the driver. After downloading, install the driver that you have downloaded to update the sound driver of your laptop. If prompted for a restart, restart your computer then check your computer for a sound.

If the driver you downloaded will not fix the audio problem, you have to return to it's original operating system (windows vista) of your laptop by reformatting from a clean installation using windows vista installer.

Installation of Windows 7 is not supported by Toshiba for laptops made prior to 2007. Have a nice day.

Do not know video or audio cards. had to reload os and cannot load drivers

Probably a Trident video card. Go into Control Panel>System and select the display adaptor right click and select update driver don't let it contact windows update. Thwe next step should then say this wizard helps you install software for and it will tell you the hardware. Repeat for the audio card.

If that doesn't work right click on the adaptor>Properties>Details>Hardware IDs and google the ven and dev data

Im having problems with my resolution. I have a Toshiba Satellite A135 S2386. I recently downgraded to XP and the only problem is the display. It won't let me set it to 1280 x 800 or whatever it should be,...

Download the correct XP drivers for the System from Toshiba's website itself. Install all the Toshiba drivers as on some of the notebooks, the monitor panel drivers are actually contained in the video adaptor files & are installed at the same time.

Looking for wireless on switch on laptop

Right Side, underneath your volume control. If it is switched on and still cant access the internet wireless give this a try.

Use Control Panel's Add or Remove Programs utility to uninstall the Toshiba Hotkey Utility, and then reinstall it.
This program is called E-Key Utility on the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD. It's called Toshiba E-Key Utility for Windows XP on the Toshiba Support website.

Unistalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility:
  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  4. Select TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility.

  5. Click Change/Remove.

  6. Click OK to confirm that you wish to completely remove the selected application and its features. The InstallShield Wizard will begin the removal process.

  7. Click Finish to exit the InstallShield Wizard.
Re-installing the Toshiba Hotkey Utility using the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD that shipped with the computer:
  1. Insert the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD into the CD/DVD drive and close the tray. The setup program on the DVD should start automatically.

  2. When the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window appears, verify that "Install applications and drivers" is the selected install type, and click Next.

  3. Select E-key Utility from the list, and click Install.

  4. When the WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, click OK.

  5. Click Unzip.

  6. Click OK to acknowledge that the files were successfully unzipped.

  7. When the InstallShield window appears, click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

  8. When the installation is complete, click Exit and then OK to close the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window.

  9. Remove the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD from the optical drive and close the tray.
Reinstalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility using the file downloaded from the Toshiba Support website:
  1. Download the Toshiba E-key Utility for Windows XP from the Toshiba Support website, and save it to your computer. See also the bulletin Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.

  2. Navigate to where you saved the file and double-click it.

  3. Click Run.

  4. When the WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, click OK.

  5. Click Unzip.

  6. Click OK to acknowledge that the files were successfully unzipped.

  7. When the InstallShield window appears, click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

I have an IBM think pad that developed a 2 inch black strip on the left side of my dispaly. I tried restoring to a previous setting, I updated video drivers, I reset display properties. None of the above worked and am now thinking of formatting and reinstalling windows as a last hope unless someone has any other ideas.

Booting problems with my Toshiba Satellite P105

Try to reinstall the video driver from Safe mode.
It appears your hard disk is OK but the operating system and or registry is corrupted.
1. Try installing the video driver first.
2. If it still does not work, back up your data files in Safe Mode then re-install XP again, make sure you delete the partition and create a new partition and do a full NTFS format, not a quick format.
