My rca p52731wk projection television will not power on

THERE IS A FUSE, it is located inside where the power cord connects.

Let me ask does power light come on for just a moment at all?

sounds like my 32", its going to be one of three things,
Convergence board,
if it is this you will need to order one online and install it yourself, lots of guides online to help you with this process,
High voltage power supply,
again this can be purchased online and directions are available, if it is the high voltage supply, the tv will act like it wants to come one and maybe click a couple of times
Low voltage supply,
the tv will do nothing, now if the tv does nothing, the low voltage supply isn't the only possibility, but the most likely, check fuses on this one as they are easy

I would guess that the HV Block has failed. A very common failure. I would hesitate trying to replace it unless you are familiar with Projection HV circuits. You did good supplying
the Model # and Chassi #. both are required to get the proper part# if you try to get the part yourself or calling a service shop to fix it.

is this just a whine since you describe no problem with the picture it dosent jump or change color or flicker. there may be an easy fix this sounds like some coils oscillating and i tell you what can be done you can take some silcon and put on these coils to dampen then vibrations. now ther may be other problems but without looking this is my first gues ...where are these coils? ll037 on the power supply deflection board

check for bad or broken connections around the high voltage transformer......

CAREFULLY Measure the voltage on both sides of the fuse to make sure that the fuse is actually good.

No fix?

disconnect and reconnect the wires from the low voltage and control side of the power supply board.

No fix?

Throw it in the garbage.

that buzzing sound is likely the power supply letting you know it is overloaded. check the output voltages for 1 that is missing or low, it probibly has a shorted component on it.

Sounds like the flyback, can you look on the rear tag and let me know which chassis you have and verify your model number and I will post which flyback you need as well as where to get a replacement with free tech support to help you install it.

Sounds like the convergence power supply is defective. If you need more info let me know

open it up and see if any liquid is spilled on the boards, most squeals are from the high voltage transformer and or splitter
