Built-in Speakers might have been dead in this case.

it has to be checked in person, so it is advised to take it to a service center.

Suggestion: Use external speakers or headphones until there is a need, as internal spares for laptops are costly and not available easily in market.

SOURCE: No sound come through external headset or desktop speaker

Sometimes the headphone jack has its own volume control separate from the internal speakers. Check the levels in the volume mixer.

I have HP-Pavilion- DV2000 Laptop I have a sound problem because sound not coming out from built-in speakers, headphones or external USB speakers. Drivers in device manager seems to be OK Sound play cursor...

sounds like it can be the hardware. try to uninstall and reinstall the latest audio driver then configure your speaker settings and volume settings. if this does not work, you may need to get the audio card or motherboard replaced.

Distored sound

distorted sound from external speakers or internal speakers?
isolate please. remove external speakers if you have one. just troubleshoot on the internal speakers alone.
uninstall the audio drivers. install the latest one. if fails. download then flashed the latest bios.
run diagnostics extended test to check the internal speakers. if also fails then replace the internal speakers.

Speakers Not Working

It sounds like the driver for your sound card may be missing. Look in Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager. Under "Sound Video and Game Controllers" is there anything with an X or and !.

If so you'll need to re-install the driver for the sound card. If everything in device manager looks fine - let's check the volume settings found under Control Panel / Sound.

Please let me know if this has been helpful or if you have any further questions. Thank you.

External speakers for toshiba laptop problem

Check device manager and make sure the audio drivers are not disabled. If so enabled it. I am quite sure you have checked to see if its muted. If it is enabled and its not working, try updating the drivers or uninstalling and reinstalling latest driver audio driver OEM site.

**If you reinstall the same driver you might get the same error but its what a shot.**
