My pioneer 5020FD Kuro tv. when I plug power to the unit, a blue light blinks 8 times pause 2 sec. and blink 8 times repeating this and if i press power button it clicks red light and makes a clicking sound and goes back to the blue light blinking again, it did this once before and the picture came on fine until i turned it off and now it just blink the blue code.

Four blinks of standby light to Plasma TVs, denotes a voltage output failure from its main power regulator board. Check this link for more. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts there. Blinking codes to most Plasma TV brands will be similar. Check them. Pioneer brand is also there.
Products powered by electricity should be serviced or repaired only by experienced professional technicians. Any attempt to service or repair the product by anyone else could result in serious injury or death. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock. Instead, contact the nearest service centre.

If convergence was off it may have railed (shorted convergence chip) and the set is now in shutdown.

Also go over inside in case you moved or pulled a plug loose.

This is not an easy set to replace the chips and only the original remote will adjust convergence.

OK Its your power supply and it can be fixd for free due to a recall.

The issue with the power supply in the plasmas listed above does not pose any health or safety risk. Pioneer has received reports that the power supply in the affected models may fail. this is a power supply.. you have to replace the board to fix. price depends on model but on the old ones its $$
