Oh I'd love to be able to see this one. OH well. What batteries are you using? If they are ordinary alkaline, then you should get a set of NiMH rechargable batteries. (As strong as you can find) If the problem continues, taale the camera into Nikon and send your friend the bill.

My S800 has been amazing, however since Thursday when I take a pic and zoom in, the image is very bright, or white and has lines all over it (looks like a bad canvass painting, non zoomed images are fine!...

Hi, the problem is in the shutter that you can found inside of the lens unit and maybe the shutter not work properly or damage. you will notice also once you take picture during night time the pictue is good but if you zoom in you will find the lines all over the picture.

tryo to open your camera and check the lens unit. First try to disconnect the the lens cable and connect then check. if the problem still occur, you need to do is open the lens unit and adjust the shutter if working fine or not.also check the flat cable if its not broken.

if you can't do this bring to service center

goodluck and thank you my friend

I have a zoom error alert on the screen of my fuji j37 digital camera. When i turn the camera on the lens comes out and retracts straight away.

I had this problem for the first time yesterday, on my fifth use of the camera from new. The user manual says to turn it on and off a few times which I did but to no avail. I found advice on a different forum that said to hold your finger over the shutter as you turn it on, so that the lens doesn't have time to retract again. Sort of use your finger nail to hold the shutter up while the lens extends. Tried this and it worked, switched it off and back on agiain and it seems to be going fine now.

Whiteout on fujifilm f20. how do I remove the lens?

Firstly, to isolate the shutter as the problem, turn the camera on and the flash off. put the lens into full optical (not digital) zoom. Then turn the camera lens to face you and look at the lens and take a picture.
With the camera in full optical zoom the shutter assembly will be right up to the outer lens so you can see it clearly. When the button is pressed you should see the shutter fire across the lens inside. It should cover the lens completely. If it does not or doesn't fire at all then you get over exposed pictures or lines across the photo. The most likely cause for this is moisture residue on the shutter leafs sticking them together.
To clean you will need to strip the lens down almost completely to access the shutter assembly. If this model of camera uses a sealed shutter unit then it will be impossible to clean. The only models i have found so far that use a sealed unit are the F460 and F470. Yours I am not sure of as I haven't opened 1 up but the solution for most is to strip it down and clean.
Tip: use another camera to photograph each stage to help on re assembly

Fuji E900

Try the video function.
If this works fine then it is most probably the shutter sticking.
To confirm the shutter is sticking turn the camera on, put the zoom to full optical and turn it to face you so you can see into the lens. Watch the inner part of the lens when you take a picture. You should see the shutter fire across the lens. Lines on pictures or over exposed pictures are caused by gaps in the shutter or the shutter failing to fire altogether.
Moisture residue on the shutter leafs is the common cause for this problem.
Some people on here have their own views about what causes lines on photo's. Someone even said digital cameras do not have a shutter and problems were due to software issues....
I have dealt with 100's of different models, including Fuji's E900 and always have found moisture residue to be the cause.

Fujifilm A345 keeps saying zoom error lens wont open and when i press shutter button it makes a short buzzing sound then zoom error comes up help

I recently came into this camera and after a day of testing it, it's doing the same thing. My work around is this. When it's on I press the zoom function and the lens then pops out. Then after it's out, I remove the batteries while it's still on. Put the batteries back in, and power it on (lens will be popped out) and then it starts working. I only paid $7 for it at a good will. So I was taking a chance it worked somewhat. This may work for you temporarily. Not sure how long this one will last.

Hi,
Do you mean the lens cover on the end of the lens Is not opening properly, or the shutter inside the lens?

Photos taken on zoom have white horizontal lines across them. Photos taken at normal zoom are OK.

Hi!
It sounds like that the shutter cable inside lens is partially broken. It moves with the lens while it zooms, so it could loose contact while stretched - when you have zoomed the lens. Z750 and Z850 have this problem with shutter cable - it breaks. The white horizontal lines are because shutter doesn't work. I'm afraid the cable will brake soon and pictures will be too bright with white horizontal lines even at normal zoom. It is considered a hard repair - the shutter part or whole lens unit has to be changed. You can contact your local Casio service center and ask the price, but it will probably be very high. I work in a Casio service center and new lens for this camera costs about 250$. It's not a good idea to put on used lens or shutter, as it will brake again sometime - it's just a matter of time. I suggest you get another camera.

Hope this helps!

your camera needs cleaning of lens and lens shutter; because some time dust particles gose inside and effect the alignment of lens and cause camera not working.

Shutter issue

I experienced the same problem and took the camera in for repair - I was told the problem was with the motor on the zoom drive which had to be replaced. The shutter cover has worked fine ever since. Repair cost was about $150

V570 Dual Lens, will not switch to ordinary lens.

Hi, My V570 works fine on widescreen lens (the default on startup) but when I zoom up to switch to the other lens it goes to a dark blank screen and will take a similarly dark blank picture. I can hear the zoom activating as I click it so I think that is ok. I opened the camera
