I had this problem for the first time yesterday, on my fifth use of the camera from new. The user manual says to turn it on and off a few times which I did but to no avail. I found advice on a different forum that said to hold your finger over the shutter as you turn it on, so that the lens doesn't have time to retract again. Sort of use your finger nail to hold the shutter up while the lens extends. Tried this and it worked, switched it off and back on agiain and it seems to be going fine now.

ZOOM ERROR Msg on screen..cant clear it

http://www.fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/J10_E.pdf

P. 107 of the .pdf file (manual) says that if the zoom error occurs to turn the camera on and off, and then on, and if the error doesn't go away then contact Fuji support for service.

It's a camera malfunction or fault.

Suddenly the optical zoom stopped working. The digital zoom continues to work as does all aspects of the camera. No warning or alerts are displayed.. This is the Fuji S700 model

Lens error right . It is mechanical failure some thing is obstructing the movement of lens . With blower blow to remove dust particle blocking the movement of lens .

Hope this helps to solve the problem .

Hi,
This problem is related to the malfunctioning of zoom motor, Two possibilities are there,
1- If company provides technical help on component leve in your regionl then zoom motor may replace.
2- If component level support is not available then LENS ASSEMBLY must be replaced.
Contact your nearest fuji service centre or contact any expert nearby for the specific part replacement.
    Thanks for using fixya.

Zoom on fuji f650 stuck

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.

S5000 fujifilm

Was probably caused by the zoom carriage locking on power out due to batteries running low. Turn off camera, tap barrel with solid but non-metallic object and turn on. Did this two times and it worked for me on second.

Fuji FinePix S700 Problem

Try to put it on super macro and see if this will reset the zoom function.
Also try to switch between the settings that allow the digital zoom, as compaired to those settings that only allow optical zoom.
If these do not work, you may have a lens that has been dropped, or is stuck, and may need to be serviced. I have the S700, and have never seen this error before> good luck.

Zoom error

Sounds like you have a problem with the optics of the camera.

Zoom Error

Pull the lens away from the body until it clicks and then turn it clockwise while looking at the front of the camera.
