I have an Toshiba 50HX70 were the colors have seperated that uses the STK392-110 convergence IC in two places. Is there a better IC replacement, I thought that I had read a clip about replacing it with an STK392-180 in a Panasonic unit. I have gone into the menu to make adjustments, but it did not totally fix the problem.
You know.. so many of these 5 to 7 year old TVs with STK392-110s are dying with the same color convergence problems. Why? Because the STK392-110s are unreliable. So, why replace a failed, and unreliable part with the same unreliable part?
Last week, I replaced the STK392-110s in a Toshiba 55H70 with 2 new STK394-160s. And it works beautifully. My post below describes my efforts:

From my research, the STK392-110s are an unreliable chip that tends to overheat and doesn't last more than a few years at best in a new board, where all the resistors etc are in perfect condition. In an older board, these feeder parts may have moved somewhat out of tolerance and the STK392-110, by some reports, dies much quicker in such an older board.
The STK394-160 is the latest compatible replacement part for the STK392-110, is much more reliable and runs much cooler. Also, I can vouch that the STK394-160 works as a fully compatible replacement for the 110 in a very similar model Toshiba (the 55H70).

You should stick with the 110's. the pinout may be the same, but that doesnt mean they will work. Also you need to check all of the large 1 watt resistors by the STK's - if one is bad or out of spec it will greatly effect the picture. Remember, you need to test these OUT OF CIRCUIT.
One more thing, there may be some small Pico fuses or other fuses near the convergence power supply - check all fuses as well.
