I have seen a few articles on this subject but I was hoping someone can give me specific help with this problem. I try to fix the convergence on mt Toshiba color stream (cinema series HD) model 50HX70, but I cannot set it up properly on the left side of the screen. The central crosshair, and all crosshairs on the right and middle of the screen are OK but when I try to fix the cross hairs on the left side, I cannot move the red color (I am missing about a half inch). I am including a picture to demonstrate this.
Can anyone recommend a solution?

Tv have a dead convergence board. The convergence board require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the convergence board to fixed the tv picture convergence problems.U have all tools and can do soldering?Yes,tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it urself.Or the shop, will $300-350 for parts and labors.
It sounds like you may have not have plugged something in or one the connectors are not "seated" or securely properly/tightly.
Make sure there is not any cables and modules are properly (tightly) secured and tightly secured.
When the convergence amplifier ICs go bad (STK392-xxx), they RARELY cause more than one color to go out. The fact that the top and bottom of the picture are effected indicates the vertical convergence IC. Replace both, and while you're in there check the bias resistors... it is likely one of these is open. Once the ICs have been replaced (as well as any open resistors), customer convergence followed up with the auto convergence should do the trick.
you need to replace both the convergence ICs number STK392-110 you can get replacement ICs at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pics so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

There are kits available online, which include the chips and the soldering iron too.......Just a word of caution, convergence chip replaced is more difficult on Toshiba #1 the chips face other boards that must be remove first. the main one is the convergence generator (which the sheild is soldered in placed) Also the signal board (which is what everythings mounted to is very fragile)..............Good Luck
