I had problems with the color convergent. i replaced the ICs and now i plugded it in and now all i get is a blinking red light near the power button.
•no picture •no sound
•NO NOTHING! What did i do wrong?

Hi, 3 times red light blinking indicates that tv got problem of convergence output ICs failure and need to replace two big black ICs (convergence output) to solve this problem. IC replacement requires soldering work and good knowledge of electronics stuff repair, please cal local tv repairman if you do not have prior experience of such work to avoid any damage. Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.Tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadows or have 3D pictures look alike?The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.These parts must be replaced on the tv convergence board to fix it.To solved the tv picture convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include.... •Screen looks 3D •Colors don't line up •One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. •Screen is bowed or warped. •TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Common problems on this tv ( cause no power):
1.- Loose connection between connectors and cool solder around fly back. ( re solder all).
2.- IC vertical output and capacitor in same section ( 100uf, 220uf,3300 uf and 2.2uf ), replace all.
3.- STKs ICs convergence , need be replace ( check any resistor around STKs, for burn or brown color).
----- Try to do step by step; you will repair your tv.

If it shuts off and then the power light starts blinking red or never turns on but the power light blinks red continuously that is usually indicative of the convergence ICs (STK 392-110). You never want to replace the ICs without also replacing the resistors that are associated with them. There are usually 6 resistors, one for each of the colors and there corresponding direction, IE Red horizontal, red vertical, blue horizontal, ect. In the case of this model tv all of the resistors are 2.2 Ohm and 2watts. You will find them right where the STK 392-110 ICs are. Right in front of them. They are blue and have this color code on them: Red, red, gold, gold. These are represented by stripes on the resistors. You can get the parts from www.bdent.com They carry the ICs and the resistors. the convergence ICs have shorted and thats whats shutting down the set. Its an easy repair you have to replace both the Convergence ICs they are STK392-110 ICs you can get replacements at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures and also free tech support.
