Im recommending you collect samples of your back pieces you're supposed to connect and visit your local hardware stare. Ask somebody in plumbing to help with the couplings and fittings to secure the connection for the water pressure. Id recommend getting a pressure regulator valve as well.

Do you have a pressure reducing valve fitted? The pressure could be too high, or incorrect fittings may have been used to connect it to the fridge.

SOURCE: Ice maker not working

If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order:

  • It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:

    • If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.

    • If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.

In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

  • The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

SOURCE: tHE ICE MAKER IS NOT WORKING

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

SOURCE: GE TFH27PRSA ice maker water fill tube and

all is normal with the defrost heater getting red hot.

as far as the inlet tube freezing, you most likely need a new water inlet valve. it may not be closing all the way and water is slowly dripping into the icemaker and freezing up right away. a new valve should fix your issue. here is the part that you need. http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-TFH27PRSA-%3d%3di1032629&PartID=1032629

I have a Jenn Air JRSD209W refrigerator. The ice maker stopped making ice. So far I have replaced the water supply solenoid and the ice maker unit. The unit is cycling mechanically, but no water is...

Check the water line that goes from the water fill valve to the ice maker to see if it's frozen shut.
You can remove the ice maker water line from the water fill valve and see if you can blow air through it. If you can't blow through it then its frozen shut.
Sometimes they freeze shut if the water inlet valve was seeping a little water past it when it was off.
If that is the case you have already replaced it so after thawing the water line out you should be good to go.

The water line that connects to the back top of the fridge busted loose. It looks like there is an adhesive pad that keeps it in place. How do I fix it? Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

The plastic line that connects to the ice maker rubber FILL tube is what came off. Check inside the freezer and squeeze the end of the rubber tube at the back of the ice maker. I would bet it is frozen with ice. (Hand held hiar dryer for quite a while to defrost the tube FYI and do NOT melt the plactic of the ice maker water funnel.) What causes the tube to freeze is the inlet water valve starts bypassing water when it is supposed to shut off. The result of this bypassed water is a frozen rubber tube and the plactic tube on the back of the refirgerator blows off or leaks. This inlet water valve is NOT repairable.

The Fix... Replace the inlet water valve and make sure the rubber ice maker fill tube is defrosted BEFORE re-inserting the plastic tube back into the rubber fill tube. It just pushes in and the adhesive pads for holding the plastic line in place are not critical even if they are lost. The rubber fill tube fitting will retain the plastic hose just fine as long as the ice maker end of the tube is not frozen from a leaking inlet water valve.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

KitchenAid ice dispenser tray is dry - not working

Put some water in the ice mold is what I would try. wait and see if the ice maker harvest a batch. If it does drop a batch but no more then the water valve is probably shot. The ice maker itself controls the water. It does this by filling the ice mold for 7.5 seconds. Here is your Ice maker repair manual and some repair photos along with a pictorial which snows how to check the water valve.

Icemaker not making ice

Hi reach up and feel inside the ice tray where the ice is made. If you feel some ice then the ice maker is bad and should be replaced. If you feel in the tray and it is empty then either the water line is blocked or the valve is bad.

The way to determine which is to pull the unit out and remove the lower panel at the back. Trace the water line for the ice maker to the valve, remove the water line from the valve and blow through it. If you are able to blow through the line the valve is bad, if not able to blow through the line there is a blockage. Trace the blockage in the waterline from the valve up to the ice maker and thaw the ice blockage with a hairdryer.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Mike

Water dispenser leaks, ice maker won't make ice. Hve disconnected line at bottom front, and tried blowing out the lines, no help. Model EDQ22DQFNX00

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

For the ice maker problem, Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear. If it does, the problem is the ice maker and not the valve and line.

WATER FREEZING IN ICE MAKER

check 2 things. Make sure the fill tube is going downwards to the cup inside. The second thing is when the valve shuts off make sure it closes right away. If it doesnt then replace the valve.

For all of you having problem of not getting any water to ice maker the water line running from solinoid valve to ice maker , mine was plugged solid with ice- try blowing through it once you have line removed from solinoid valve. I know they say you can removed the ice with a blow dryer but I tried that the ice was too far down to melt it .I took the line loose from the back of the fridge and un attached retaining screw and pulled plastic insert through cavity of fridge and ran hot water through it. Now it works fine.
