SOURCE: R-1214 Stainless Steel 1100 Watts Microwave Oven: turns on buts starts sparking in a few seconds. ...

what's sparking... is it by the Magnatron window... or the carousel?...
If there is a carousel... take it out...
if its by the magnatron window,,, then...houston... we have a problem...
might be contamination... and that may require opening up the unit... sorry...
hopefully it's only something floating around in there that's causing the arc...

GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave Oven sparks at the center of the rotating rack. There is no sparking when it is removed. I removed and cleaned the wave panel, but that did not help. I will wait for your...

This has to be grease, food debris, or carbon, probably on the rotating rack.

Run the oven for a few seconds empty - with and without the rack - to find where it is arcing.

Then clean, sand, and repaint with high temperature appliance spray paint as needed.

Sharp r-930ak microwave oven is sparking

A dirty or damaged wave guide cover can cause sparks, fire and noises. You can order a replacement wave guide cover from many appliance parts websites for less than $15 in many cases. It should fix the problem.

Microwave...after a few seconds it starts sparking

OMG,
first thing, THROW IT AWAY!
These panels are in place to protect you from radiation that the microwave puts out to heat your food. Under no attempt should you use this piece of equipment, or attempt repair!! Either use the warranty program to send off and get repaired, or throw it out and buy a new one. I have found that even sending one for repair the owner is responsible for two way shipping, and that is usually half as much as a new microwave!
good luck,
Jay

Sparking fire inside the microwave - Knemore Model No. 721.80522500

If the sparking has stopped, that should be fine.

If you have a burned spot you may need to sand it and repaint it with appliance paint from Wal-Mart, etc.

You can probably replace the shelf bracket / hook if it's still available.

If you'll post your brand and model, we'll see if we can steer you toward a source for a new shelf bracket.

If it's a Kenmore, you can probably find an exploded view by entering your FULL model number here: http://www3.sears.com (the 3 is correct)

Sparks when in use

Sonja, I'm not sure what hinges you're speaking about. If you are referring to the bumpers on the ends of the wire racks that are used for convection...move the racks away from the wall. Generally, you should not have anything metal in the unit when it is just microwaving....they are for convection use. You will not start a fire but you will shorten the life of the magnetron if you continue to allow the sparking condition.
