Normally you look for the clock ot watch icon. Pressing it once will give you the option for 24 hours setting. Press it twice and it will give you the opportunity to set to 12 hours setting. Using the no. keypad, punch in the time and then repress the clock icon again.
For my microwave, I had to:
--hold the timer/clock button for 3 seconds
--select a 12-hour or 24-hour display
--enter the time
--press the timer/clock button.
If this doesn't work for your microwave, Google the model number of the microwave that's usually found on the back of the unit. Find the manual, and look up how to change the time.

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > CLOCK
CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > START
