The only way is to compress the audio tracks on each CD into MP3 (compressed) music files and then burn the MP3 music files to a CD.
Whether you can fit all converted 50 CDs to MP3 onto a single CD depends upon how large the MP3 files are. A CD can only hold 640 Mb of data.

    I forgot to mention.
Your CD player has to be MP3 compatible to play MP3 music files.

SOURCE: I can't download music on my Coby mp605 without the disc

Your best bet is to buy tracks that are in mp3 format directly, since DRM-protected WMA's will give you problems eventually (even though the mp3 files are more expensive).

Once you have downloaded them, you can use the program called Windows Media Player to transfer songs to your Coby.

A full user manual for your model is available on Coby's website.

Which disc can be used to recrord on ?

According to the user manual, the following DVD media you can record with this unit are:

RECORDING: TYPES OF DISCS YOU CAN USE FOR RECORDING

DVD+R 2.4x, 4x, or 8x ONLY; DVD+RW 2.4x and 4x ONLY.

NOTES:
It is NOT possible to record on CD-R or CD-RW discs.
IMPORTANT: It is NOT possible to record content that is copy-protected. This is usually true for most pre-recorded DVD discs and most pre-recorded VHS tapes.

PLAYBACK: TYPES OF DISCS YOU CAN PLAY

DVD discs - DVD movie discs (DVD-ROM); DVD+R; DVD+RW; DVD-RW (must be recorded using video mode or VM); DVD-R (must be recorded using video mode or VM and must be finalized).
CDs (Audio CDs, CD-R, CD-RW) - Audio CDs contain musical or sound content only. mp3 discs are CDs (CD-R or CD-RW)
that contain mp3 files. This product also plays CDs that contain JPEG files and Multisession CDs.
Video CD (VCD) and Super Video CD (S-VCD) discs - Like DVD video discs, VCDs contain picture and sound content. The difference is the amount of information that can be stored on the disc.
VCDs typically have lower picture and sound quality than DVD discs.
Super Video CDs (S-VCDs) can be used to record up to 70 minutes of digital sound and video, with MPEG-2 standard video and MPEG-1 standard audio-but you must use DVD+R or DVD+RW discs to record on your DVD/VCR not S-VCDs.
Additionally, S-VCD disc compatibility is dependent on which MPEG coding software, disc design software, and disc writer software are used; and the discs themselves.

(The above information is extracted from the user manual for this particular model and is a guide only)

I find it very strange that the user manual does not provide any information about DVD-R recording since this is a DVD recorder. I guess you could try those types of discs in it, otherwise it will playback finalised DVD-R discs recorded/burned in another machine.

I assume you have the original manual for this unit. If not, you may be able to download it free from various sites. (retrevo may have it but they may ask you for email address prior to downloading)

I hope the above information helps a tiny bit with regard to DVD formats for this unit.

only). These Discs bear the logos as shown below. The text

and...

"Your CD recorder is able to play:

My cd recorder wont read blank cds help me please

Do as it asks, insert blank CD-Audio or CD-Music media.

Discs for recording
For recording, make sure to use special audio discs only.
These discs are marked with “Digital Audio” and the logos shown below.
There are two different types of audio discs for the use on this CD recorder:
– CD-Audio Recordable (CDR) discs
These discs can be recorded on once and
play in all standard CD players and CD
recorders, when they are finalized.
– CD-Audio ReWritable (CDRW) discs
These discs can be recorded on, erased and
re-recorded many times and play in CDRW
compatible CD players and CD recorders,
when they are finalized.
– All Philips CD players and CD recorders
with the sticker shown here are CDRW
compatible.
To ensure proper working of the set we recommend the use of Philips audio CDR and audio CDRW discs only.
Note: Do not use a computer CDR or CDRW as recording will not work!

Go here and download the manual. You'll need it.

When I want to copy a CD must I only record on a CD blank disc; i.e. not a DVD

It depends upon what type of data you want to copy onto a CD or DVD.
If you want to copy and play music in a CD player then it needs to be on a CD disc.
If you want to copy and play movie DVDs in a DVD player then it needs to be on a DVD disc.
If you want to backup data files then it can be on either CD or DVD discs (depending upon the amount of data to be stored on the disc - CD holds 700 Mb, single layer DVD holds 4.7 Gb, and dual layer DVD holds 8.5 Gb of data).
A DVD player can read both CDs and DVDs, but a CD player cannot read DVD discs.

My front loader reads disc error or unplayable no matter what disc I insert. It worked just fine for about 2 years. It doesn ot get heavy cd use, but everyday radio/alarm use.

To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:
  • The Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs, MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs, make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs

  • The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was recorded in and the actual disc used for recording.
Note: iTunes defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options

  • Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs

  • If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in
