Cyclone ca-594 amplifier

Have a "cyclone ca-594" amplifier, connected Power, Remote, and Ground to unit, the protect light is illuminating but not the power light. The unit is not connected to a head unit yet, am trying to figure out if the amp is functional before removing the head unit to connect the rca's. Does this "protect" light illumination without the "power" light illuminating signal trouble with the amplifier?

The protection system will come on if for example the speaker wires are touching, or there is an overload in the system. If you can't get it to clear, then suspect a power transitor has failed, causing a short circuit.

SOURCE: problem with my Peavy CS 1200x power amp

The Idle bias or channel offset circuit is not functioning and the longer you wait before you have it repaired by a pro, the more its gonna end up costing you. At this point its probably just a small bias diode or even an channel bias alighnment .Good Luck

The power amp does need an imput signal ie. tuner, cd , and such to play. You can use the power amp with the other equipment.

SOURCE: Nad amp failure

Solution if all fuses checked out OK and +/-40V are present on main PCB DC connector from power supply:
Check for +37V and -37V on small sub-power supply PCB - mounted vertically on the main power supply PCB. (next to ribbon cable connector is a layout with voltages.) If the +/-37V are missing check (replace) C501 (0.1uF) on the small power supply PCB for leakage, but also check (replace) R401 (2R2) and R402 (2R2) on the main power supply PCB. Both resistors are fuse-resistors and will have gone open circuit when C501 has gone leaky.

SOURCE: Denon AVC1530 Amplifier Protection mode

Protection means that the output stage of the amp has detected a problem. Usually this is because there is DC present on the speaker line indicating blown outputs. Figure on $25-$45 for parts plus the local labor rate for the repair.

How to fix blown sub (replace fuses etc)...? stop protective light illuminitating?

The first thing to try is to disconnect the sub and all speakers from the amp's output block. The only things that you need connected to the amp are the 12V power, the ground wire, and the remote wire to turn it on. If the protection light comes on with only these three wires connected - your amp has been damaged internally and will either need to be repaired or replaced.

Installation: Electrical Requirements

13Mb product manual is a big download ... electrical info page 13:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/AO-Smith-Cyclone-gas-water-heater.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/AO-Smith-Cyclone-electrical-connection.pdf
Recommended both water heaters require dedicated single-phase 15 amp 120Volt line with correct polarity. This is 14 gauge wire and 15 amp breaker for each unit.
I would put both water heaters on surge protection and GFCI. Most water heaters are not protected from surge, and manual says line noise can affect operation of water heater.
Your local code would say if GFCI is required. Install GFCI breaker in main panel if required.
Install inline surge protector: Or add main breaker box protection.

How do i fix my Power Acoustik LT-980/2 car amp, it keeps on going into protect mode.

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you

Amp 7541a amp was working fine, Took it out of one

REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS, THEN POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP WITH THIS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL GOES INTO PROTECTION AND YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE POSITIVE AND ESPECIALLY THE GROUND CONNECTIONS, ALONG WITH THE REMOTE CONNECTIONS ARE 100%, THEN THE AMPLIFIER WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. KEEP IN MIND, THAT DURING THE INITIAL TURN ON OF THE AMPLIFIER, THEY SOMETIMES WILL ILLUMINATE THE PROTECTION LIGHT WHILE STABILIZING THE POWER SUPPLY AND OUTPUTS, BUT AFTER THAT THEY SHOULD SHOW NORMAL POWER UP. IF YOU GET IT TO POWER UP FINE, THEN RECONNECT THE SPEAKERS AND IF STILL OK, THE RECONNECT THE RCA'S. IF IT IS STILL POWERED UP, THEN START TO TURN UP THE MUSIC. IF IT IS STILL POWERED UP AND NO MUSIC, THEN CHECK THAT YOU DEFINITELY HAVE A PROPER SIGNAL COMING FROM THE RADIO. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

Brand new Amp, LED Protection lit up

If you have a good ground and 12+v on both the B+ and remote terminals, it's likely a DOA amp. Return it to the place of purchase for repair or replacement.

Legacy 1470 smoke prob.

If it begins to smoke with only the B+, ground and remote connected, the power supply transistors have likely failed.

The protection light generally won't come on if the power supply is blown because the supply must be working for the protection circuit (which protects the output transistors) to engage.

The power light may be connected to the B+ side of the power supply. If that's the case, the power light will illuminate even if the amp is inoperative.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
