Cycle control lights flashing all at same time

All of the control lights are on and blinking on my Viking Professional dishwasher. I have tried turning the unit off and on several times via the main on/off button and the lights still all flash. I have tried turning the dishwasher off via the circuit breaker for 1+ hours hoping it would reset but no success. The unit makes a motor-like noise when it is on (and the lights flash) and I can see that the sprayer on the bottom of the machine moves a bit. I have cleaned all of the drain parts and checked the hoses -- all seems okay. If I simply close the unit it does not cycle. Yesterday, when I noticed the problem, the water did go into the machine initially but it then seemed to stop going in. There was some leakage under the dishwasher when I turned it off and standing water on the bottom of the machine. When I turned the unit on this morning the machine did drain the standing water. Is seems to be stuck in some kind of cycle limbo and I am hoping there is a simple reboot for the buttons. Any ideas?

Clean light blinks on whirlpool dishwasher won't run

If you aren't sure whether Control Lock is on, press a cycle button on the keypad. If Control Lock is on, the light will blink three times.
Turning off Control Lock:
  1. Press and hold the Lock Button for four seconds. The lock light will disappear.
  2. Once off, you should be able to start your wash cycle.
Note: If Sleep Mode is on, turn that off first, then turn off Control Lock.

Like many other electronics, you may need to reset the dishwasher control panel by turning it off, waiting, then turning it back on.
  1. Press the OFF button.
  2. Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source by unplugging it or by turning the circuit breaker off at the electric panel.
  3. Once disconnected, wait one minute, and turn the power back on.

Hello Peter!

Your owners manual or a call to Viking should help you decode the blinking panel lights. They are not random and are a desperate cry for help from the machine.

It has been my experience (YMMV) that a common dishwasher problem in older machines is accumulated grunge (the technical term) in the water level sensor. In many cases the sensor lives in a plastic container on the side of the DW and although the designers try hard to avoid contamination, the container eventually loads up and intermittently jams the float.

Before I pulled the unit however, I'd check the bottom of the wash cabinet for contaminants. There may be an screen (under a cover plate) that has clogged.

Your situation sounds a bit different, since my Samsung did not pump out water, it just stopped and flashed a code, but who knows? Go for the low-hanging, common issues first.

All the best.

Blinking lights on frigidaire dishwasher

Hello - Try resetting the dishwasher by disconnecting the power to the unit. This will clear most flashing lights. You can disconnect power by flipping the circuit house breaker off and back on for approximately two minutes. If this does not prove to be successful, contact a professional to move forward accurately. Dishwasher could possibly have a faulty control board or wiring failure.

The normal and economy lights are blinking and cannot get to wash through a full cycle. water is in the bottom of the washer

You will have to check if the dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle or wash cycle.

The normal and economy lights flashing means there is flooding in the unit.

Reset the unit by pressing START button for 4 secs. If the flashing does not stop then you have to call the technician. There may be a leakage which is causing the flood switch to activate.

I have a viking dishwasher that is not a year old yet. I start it and within 5 min the lights start blinking on it, so it stops?

can you please confirm which light is blinking.
Does it take in water before it stops?
Refer page 34 and 35 in this manual once you check which light is flashing.

Hope this helps.
