My message light on base and 2 other cordless phones flashes constantly. There is not beeping just flashing lights. Have read manual but cannot figure out how to get rid of this flashing. When there is a message it flashes and beeps (which is normal) When message is retrieved the beeping stops but flashing continues. Very annoying.

Press down the "find handset" button until the paging beep stops (about 5 seconds) and this will reset the indicator lights on the handsets.

Bit late now but I found mine was caused by the date and time on the handset resetting to the wrong year as I had unplugged it for a while so once I reset that all was ok

If the message light on your base unit and other cordless phones is constantly flashing, even when there are no new messages, it could be due to a few reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Clear the voicemail: Sometimes, even if you have retrieved a voicemail, the message indicator light may continue to flash if the voicemail system itself hasn't registered the message as "read." Access your voicemail system and ensure that all messages, including saved or deleted ones, are cleared from the system.
  2. Check for "saved" messages: Some phone systems have a feature that allows you to save or mark specific messages as important. These saved messages may continue to trigger the message indicator light to flash. Access your voicemail system and review if there are any saved messages. Delete or mark them as "read" to see if the flashing stops.
  3. Reset the phone system: Try resetting your cordless phone system. Unplug the power cord from the base unit and all connected cordless phones. Leave them unplugged for a couple of minutes. Then, plug them back in and allow them to reconnect. This reset may help clear any temporary glitches causing the constant flashing.
  4. Check the message waiting indicator settings: Some phone systems allow you to adjust the settings for the message waiting indicator light. Check the user manual or the settings menu on your phone system to see if there are any options to modify the behavior of the message indicator light. You may be able to disable the constant flashing through these settings.
  5. Contact the manufacturer or service provider: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it may be best to contact the manufacturer of your cordless phone system or your service provider for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise on any software updates or settings changes that may be necessary.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the constant flashing of the message indicator light on your cordless phone system.

Telstra cordless 301 message light flashes on handset 1 which is on the base, but the 2nd handset message light does not flash even if it is on the cradle. I have unplugged both phones several times to no...

If the message light on the Telstra cordless handset 1 is flashing, indicating a new message, but the message light on handset 2 does not flash even when it's on the cradle, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check message notification settings: Make sure that the message notification settings on both handsets are properly configured. Refer to the user manual or the settings menu on the handsets to adjust the message notification settings. Ensure that the notification is enabled for both handsets.
  2. Reset the handsets: Try resetting both handsets to their default settings. This can be done by removing the batteries from the handsets, unplugging the base station, and leaving them disconnected for a few minutes. Then, reinsert the batteries and plug in the base station. Allow the handsets to reconnect to the base and check if the message light on both handsets functions properly.
  3. Check the base station: Ensure that the base station is functioning correctly. Check if the base station is properly connected to the telephone line and power source. If possible, try connecting handset 2 to the base station that handset 1 is connected to and see if the message light functions on that base station. This will help determine if the issue is with the base station or the handset itself.
  4. Contact Telstra support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it may be best to contact Telstra support directly for further assistance. They will have specific knowledge of their product and can provide more detailed troubleshooting steps or advise on any potential repairs or replacements that may be necessary.
Remember to refer to the user manual for your specific Telstra cordless model for more detailed instructions on troubleshooting and operating the handset.

I have 2 problems. 1. The orange message light will not stop flashing no matter what I do. 2. Some how the system was switched from touch tone to dial tone. I can't seem to that switched either.

Resetting the voice message waiting indicator
When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes. In the event your message waiting light gets out of sync with your phone company's
voice messaging system, you can manually reset it back to the "No messages waiting" state.
1. Press and hold FiND on the base for five seconds.
Note: The handsets connected to the base will start to beep, however, keep pressing for five seconds.
2. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.
Changing the dial mode
Your phone can communicate with the telephone network in two different ways: tone dialing or pulse dialing. These days, most base networks use a method called tone dialing, so your phone comes programmed for tone dialing. If your phone company uses pulse dialing, you will need to change your phone's dial mode. If you don't get a dial tone or can't connect to the telephone network, please follow the steps below to modify your phone's settings:
1. Press MENU/SELECT.
2. Select the Global Setup menu, and then the Dial Mode submenu.
3. Scroll to highlight Pulse.
4. Press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone.
If you ever need to change the dial mode back to tone dialing, follow the same procedure, but select Tone in step 3.

Finally for future ease of use, here is a link to the user manual were I copied the above information from:

The base unit has a flashing light. Why and how

Usually the flashing light is a New Message waiting indicator, meaning you either have a message on the built in answering machine, or you have Voice mail service provided by your telephone service provider. If you have checked both of these and there is no message either place, you need to do the VMWI reset procedure in your manual, if you don't have the manual you can look it up at Uniden.com

I have a uniden dect1580 6.0 and the red light in the left hand corner blinks all the time.

That is the message waiting indicator, it is telling you that your Call Notes (Or whatever your service provider calls it's voicemail) has a message waiting. If you do not have a message waiting, you can turn the light of by following these steps:

Resetting the voice message waiting indicator
When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message waiting light gets out of sync with your phone company’s
voice messaging system, you can manually reset it back to the “No messages waiting” state.
Press and hold FIND on the base for five seconds.
Note: The handsets connected to the base will start to beep, however, keep pressing for five seconds.
A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

In Use LED flashing constantly

Your phone may have lost registration to the base. 1) Try disconnecting the power to the base and then re-connecting the power with the cordless phone in the base. Give it a few seconds, then see if it works. 2) Try removing the battery, wait 10 seconds, re-install the battery and set the phone in the charger.
