There is no dail tone to call out. Outside calls can be received. I even exchanged phones with another in the office and the exchanged phone works fine.

Had a lightening storm. I have 4 phone lines coming in they all check out fine. But on my Toshiba Strata DK14 Phones i only have 3 lines that work now. My phone line # 4 has a dial tone coming to the phone unit but it won't transfer to the phones. I switched phone line #4 to plug in #3 on my board in it worked fine. But when i switched phone line #3 to the plug in # 4 no dial tone. I do have a empty plug in # 5 and tried that but no dial tone on it. Can i switch # 4 to # 5 and program it to work or any other solutions that mite work

check each phone make sure none of the handsets is holding up the line
eg someone did not end the call properly
When this happens the line will time out and you will get no dial tone. This is done to release the telephone switching unit at the telephone exchange . Once you find the handset that is not call ended . end the call and wait 90 seconds and try again.

It sounds as if your DTMF tones are slightly off frequency for some reason. I have never seen this happen with any phone, but production quality has gone down hill in recent years. As you can call your CELL but not land lines, it would appear that the tones are getting to the central office but are not necessarily being decoded correctly at their end. Try taking the phone system to a friends and try it there. if it works, you will know that it is your line and not your phone. You could also try another DTMF phone on your phone line.
One other thing to check is if you have DP (Dial Pulse) selected on the base unit. If this is selected, you will still hear the tones in your phone, but the exchange will receive dial pulses, which are almost completely unused today. Where I live, you have to pay a premium to use a DP phone now!!
check ur phone wire on inside.if they r fully plugged in...then it is an outside wiring issue.i had the same problem,and i had 2 raise cain with my phone company until they acted!they finally shimmied up on the pole and replaced the outside wires & now my phone works really good!
First thing you should verify a dial tone on the fax machine. (use any analog phone)
If you have dial tone, press 9 and then a number
Second is it conected through tel. system? (did it have an internal extension) and there is no dial tone then your analog port may be fried. Call your telephone vendor. He should be able to help you.

We have a small office with l0 lines. We cannot receive calls from outside of our exachange nor can calls come in from outside of our exchange. Our voice mail will not click in from calls from within our exchange, either.
