HP Pavilion dv2214US ethernet

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion dv2214US. It came with Vista preloaded and recently I downgraded to XP Professional. I could get all the drivers to work except the ethernet card. For some reason, XP does not detect the network card and even it is not displayed in the BIOS. Can someone help me out please...

I just purchased a Hp notebook dv2214us from an auction but everything was wiped clean off the hard drive due to California Law. I completed a self test off the Bios and everything passed. I just recently...

did you go into the bios and change the boot order to boot to the cd rom first? Then it should boot to the disc. Otherwise you may want to use any xp/vista disc do the install dont insert a cd key then once windows boots up then put the disc in and try a recovery.
Thanks,

How to downgrade vista to winxp pro at Hp pavilion DV4-1204TU ?

Well, this may make you think twice:

I bought a presario from circuit city last year, and I paid $200 to downgrade to XP. Everything was fine until it crashed last week. IT went completely bizzerk. HP won't provide support, cause I changed it. Circuit City is out of business, not much help there.

Basically, I am completely #$%%@@.

I am now paying to get Vista put back in. :-(

Downgrade from vista to xp. Hardware drivers missing

You need to download the equivalent XP drivers for your HP Pavillion.

Here you go:

Sound card dvr for presario v6500 with Windows XP

This is from HP's website:
If an HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario, delivered with Vista isdowngraded to the XP operating system, HP may not provide drivers.Users are encouraged to search the Microsoft web site for informationon downgrading to XP and locating updated drivers.

See Issues with Downgrading HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario PCs to Windows XP and Restoring Windows Vista for more detailed information.

The Service Manual may tell you the chipset of the sound card(but I didn't see it just part numbers). Also, you can run this utility here(look for audio in the output), in the event that you can't figure out the chipset otherwise.

According to this post, it appears that it may be part of windows update, you can try that.

I can't find all the drivers for my desktop. I downgraded from vista to windows xp, I have a HP Pavilion a6230n PC can you help me out?

This system uses an nVidia MCP61 chipset and the nVidia site has the drivers for it. I needed to download the motherboard set to get the ethernet adapter to work. After I installed the motherboard set, Windows update was able to locate and install the rest of the drivers needed for XP on this beast.

Downgrade

Hi, The XP drivers for your laptop are available at the HP site http://www.hp.com/. Click on "Software & Driver Downloads" leftside near the bottom, enter your product "Pavilion dv9205us", click on "Microsoft Windows XP". May I suggest that you download them now even if still running vista and then burn to a CD or copy to a flashdrive. That way when you have downgraded to XP, the drivers are readily available. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turns up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
