Old laptop dont know the user name or password

Enter safe mode at start up by pressing F8, log in as administrator, from here you can clear any user passwords.

It depends on the login type.
Most company laptop are connected to the company's network and the user login is into their network. If it is only a Windows user login then this can be reset with a password recovery program, its not available to the average user.

The best bet is to reinstall Windows, this will wipe clean the hard disk and give you a laptop with a fresh clean Windows XP installation which will give you less problems.
You can do it yourself, if not get a computer savy friend to help you.

as you have forgot your password so we need to reset it
Please download this file
extract it and then burn it to a blank cd
insert the cd in your pc
and select boot from cd option from the bios
now follow the on screen instructions to reset your password

as i read your message.. i only suggest you to contact the person you have bought your laptop and ask him/her about the password...if not..your only choice is to reformat your system so that you can access it again...

try to search some programs in the internet maybe you can find other remedies other than reformat...
