I purchased this laptop several years ago from a company that went out of business. The user name and password was taped to the keyboard when I bought it and gave it to my son 4 years ago. He didn't like the label with the user name and password taped to the top so it took it off. Turns out he hasn't used the laptop in over a year and now I'm trying to fire it up, but guess what....no user name and password.
How do I get around this? Is it as easy as removing the back up battery? I don't know who to do that but will pay a local computer repair store if you think this will work, otherwise I will be out the labor charge. Please advise.
Try to boot into safe mode and log in as an administrator hold F8 on bootup log into safemode as an admin then go to control panel and change the password for the appropriate account
Send me ur email and I'll send you software to remove all passwords from system.you write software (when you get it )to a cd and now you can access and remove all passwords from cd at startup.
