Dishwasher not completing the programme and water not draining away.

The red bar light has three positions which are usually shown consecutively as the machine goes through the programme, however, the midway bar light comes on at the start with a little red dot under it.

Check for a drain clog. If not clogged, your drain pump in the washer may need servicing.

SOURCE: HELP WITH NON FUNCTIONING DISHWASHER

similar problems here, repair man says its fine but the salt light was on so i added salt and works ok now. Some dishwashers don't function properly without the salt and rinse aid, even though you're pills may have then included, you still have to add them seperately, dumb but necessary at times.

SOURCE: dishwasher not emptying at the end of its cycle.

Not sure of your light indicator; check the manual. But fyi there should be a little water left in, so the rubber seal doesn't dry out. More than that, and could be clogged drain or bad solenoid, which tells it to open and drain. See: http://www.partselect.com/repair.aspx?appliance=dishwasher&part=water-wont-drain

the spray arms are free to rotate.

Electrolux dishwasher

Hello - The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may not start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

My Dishwasher is not draining the water away, & the tap signal light is on?

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Water will not drain completly.

Usually there must be a filter screen in the dishwasher which can cause this to happen. It goes to the drain . If there is accumulation of food particles in the dishwasher filter screen then draining may be obstructed which can cause the water to be stranded at the bottom.

Usually the filter is located at the back of the dishwasher near the drain. It is usually held in position by means of clips. You can just pop it out.Pour some hot water in the drain and clean the drain line also.

If after cleaning this filter also you are facing the problem of water not draining then the drain pump must have gone bad.

are you leaving it long enough to finish it's programme or are you opening it when the drying light is on as some dishwashers leave a bit of water in the bottom to help with the drying programme
