You don't need to set the watch back an hour.  You just need to turn off the automatic DST adjustment.
Hold ADJUST for several seconds.  Then, when DEN starts flashing (or whatever timezone you are set to), hit MODE The display will change to DST flashing at the top and on or auto flashing at the bottom. Click TIME/MEMO or RECEIVE to change on->auto->off.  Once off is flashing at the bottom, hit ADJUST twice and you will be out of DST mode and everything should be fine.

How to adjust your Skyhawk for Daylight Savings Time (DST) *aka How to get UTC to reflect the correct time when your local time is set*
According to Citizen's website FAQ, their watches cannot determine when daylight savings time goes into effect for all the different time zones so there is no automatic changeover from SMT to normal and back again. If you are on the winter side of the time change (fall back), you'll have to go to the set setting, one click out on the knob and cycle through all the timezones using the B button (the lower one) to change all the settings to OF (for winter) and in the spring change all of the appropriate timezones back to ON (for summer time). Disappointing, I know... for an otherwise great watch this would be my one complaint.

How to set time on GPS watch

From your comment I have no idea what watch you have! The more infromation you provide, the likelier it is we will have a solution. However, in general, watches cannot tell if you live in a spot on the globe that uses daylight savings time. You have to enter that information. Go into your settings and see if you can turn on Daylight Savings. The watch should set the time automatically at some point, occasionally takes some time. Only a part of the world uses daylight savings, invented by Ben Franklin to save energy(coal oil) just like today!

My casio wave ceptor 3054 wv-58a is not working right. I live in Phoenix,Arizona and we don't observe daylight savings time and when I went to take it out of dst mode the day of the week is in a foreign...

The correct time zone setting for Arizona on this watch is YEA (Edmonton International Airport). Hold the adjust button for several seconds until the three code time zone starts flashing, then use the forward/back buttons to select YEA.You need to keep the DST mode off, so press mode once, then the forward button to select off in the DST select screen. From there, you can then press mode to manually adjust each time/date area individually. The final thing that you can adjust is the language, choose ENG for english. Press adjust to keep your settings, and you should be good to go.

I have a Westclox, Calander Model 70026. I have set the clock several times to the correct time,(with the time zone at the proper setting) but, after a day or so, the hour reading, reverts back...

It's most likely because of Daylight Saving Time. Your clock receives a signal through the air once a day from the actual atomic clock, much like a cell phone receives the time from your cell phone service provider, and it automatically resets itself to the exact time each time it receives this signal. Remember that the middle of the year (the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November in the US) is Daylight Saving Time for much of the United States. The clock has an option that allows you to set whether you are observing Daylight Saving Time or not. If this is set to "off", the time will be one hour behind until Daylight Saving Time ends (November 7th). Make sure this is set properly, and your problem will be solved.

Cannot change from 24 hour to 12 hour also did not change to daylight savings time

To change from 24 hour to 12 hour, you hold down the "Mode" button until it switches from 24 hour to 12 hour or vice versa. To change the time zone, you hold down the "Set" button until the time zone that you set it in flashes (like "LAX" on my watch). Then you press the "Receive/Start/Stop" button to choose the specified time zone you want. To set for daylight savings time ("DST" on the watch), after holding the "Set" button and having the time zone flash, you could press the "Mode" button. It will give you a few options for the daylight savings time (Auto, On, or Off). I chose the "On" option, which immediately changed for daylight savings time. If you manually want to change the time, you could hold down the "Set" button and keep pressing the "Mode" button until the time starts flashing on your watch, then pressing the "Receive/Start/Stop" button until you change it to the time that you want. You could also set the watch to beep or chime after pressing the set button if you wanted to know that piece. You hold down the "Set" button when you are done to get it to stop flashing. These instructions worked for my Timex T5G341 Universal Radio Control Watch. I hope this helps.

Echo drive skyhawk,My watch's time zone is always one hour behind

You posted this in January, which is not during daylight savings time. The SMT setting doesn't turn on automatic DST switching for a particular timezone; rather, it is a manual override to adjust timezones to DST when it is actually active. There is no automatic DST adjustment for this watch (according to their FAQ). Turn SMT to OF for all timezones during winter months, and ON for applicable timezones during SuMmer Time (SMT).

Timex T5E881

You have to get in the right time zone, that’s why you are an hour off (and this may also occur if you are in an area that switches between daylight savings time each spring and fall).
Press mode until ZO appears on the watch face.
Press and hold ADJ. Time zone will begin to flash.
Select start/stop or adjust to get to the right time zone P, C, M, E (pacific, eastern, Mountain, central)
If desired , press mode to select DST (daylight savings time) and press start/stop or adjust to turn it on or off.
Press adjust when done.
