The DX 45mp is a 10 meter radio meaning you need a license to use any other band other than the normal 1- 40 cb channels, its capable of going beyond the normal cb range.Ask if it has been converted to 11 meter. Channel E should be the normal if it has been converted from 10 meter to 11 meter. Im sure its been converted if its been used for a mobile cb application. Normal cb band is called 11 meter 26.965 mhz to 27.405 thats 1- 40 . Your not supposed to talk on the other bands unless you have an amature radio license but everyone does anyway . I have several galaxys and by far in my opinion are the best on the market. Go to www.cbtricks.com on the home page go to Radio Informaion click it go to G and follow it to Galaxy DX radios youll find all the info for this radio you can even print out the channel chart to see where everything is. Good luck and if you have any more questions just ask. Thank you Chia

What's the best amp for a galaxy dx 45mp. Trying to get it to shoot 500-1000 watts with out lowering the radio dk to 1-2watts.

some amps like the low dead key and some like it at 4-6 watts . Most of the newer ones don't mind the high DK its the older ones that like it low . With the power output of that radio why would you want to even use an amp?

My dx 959 won't unkey when it get warm it'll unkey when you first turn it on. What could be the problem?

did you or someone else wire another mic to it? Try the original mic to see if it still happens. you could buy some canned mr.freeze and give it a squirt around the mic connector and its circuits to the final and the Intergrated circuit. do it in steps until you find out where the problem is then replace that part.

Hi, does anyone know how to connect an LED to replace the original meter lamp on a Galaxy DX 959?, or please refer me to a site where to find this information. Thank you so much. Osvaldo

LED are diodes that operate around 2volts DC. A resistor must be soldered in series with anode or cathod side of diode if connecting to 12 volts DC. Anode to ground....if unsure start with 10k resistor and check voltage and work your way down to around 1.8 volts is ideal

Hey guys i have a galaxy 44v, i had two radio checks, on guy said it sounded like i had a pin on my nose and one said i was a little distorted, so what is going on the radio, is dead keying 0.5 watt and...

That radio is clipped and producing as much audio it can and in the process it is also a big splatter box. If you produce 4 watt of carrier and swing 6-7 it will be kinder one everyone ears around you.In other words make sure tr 32 is intact, r49 is not clipped and the amc is not turned wide open.should be marked am mod.I am a Ham Radio Operator that has 15 years of motorola experience. Hope this helps.

How can i boost my galaxy dx 959

You will have to take this radio to a tune and peak shop for this upgrade. most audio store tech can do this upgrade or, just locate a truck stop near your location and im sure there is a radio guy on the premises that will assist in this upgrade as well. great radio by the way:)

Droped channel to 17 and frequency counter don't work?

sounds like a connection is coming loose inside. take it to a CB shop and see if they can spot it. Should be an easy fix, no more than 20 or 30 dollars

Super Star 3900 GHP

Can't help you there. It's most likely that you screwed the modulator up by extending the frequency range. I used to work for Galaxy and I know what happens to a radio when amateurs try to modify them (no offense). If you modify a high power radio such as your Super Star, you're bound to have modulation and SWR problems. In expert advice, never do amateur radio modifications to a high power radio. If you want a more versatile radio, get a Galaxy DX 2517 CB base station. The DX 2517 has PA/FM/AM/SSB/USB/LSB/CW modes, and bands A-F, and a frequency range from 25.615 to 29.205 MHz. The Galaxy DX 2517 has modifications that can be done right at the factory, they are optional however. The only thing I find annoying with the DX 2517 is that it's bulky, it leaves no room for any competition. When it was designed, the engineers left space saving out of the question.
Anyway, Good luck
and
