Wen i turn on my camera it shows a white screen with a weird colored shape in the middle of the screen as if there is some kind of internal mercury leakage i dint drop it neither did it go near water and i dont know wat seems to be the problem its only about 5 months old and it was a great camera.I really want it fixed so please if you can help me by replying bak.thankz
Yep- I took my camera out of my backpack one day, and when I turned it on it was a white screen, with black vertical lines at one edge. Now they move around, and the screen will turn a bit darker when there isn't as much light. There is a faint darker oval in the middle of the screen - but that's new. I can still take pictures and all, just can't see what I'me taking pictures of until I load it up onto my pc.Yep- I took my camera out of my backpack one day, and when I turned it on it was a white screen, with black vertical lines at one edge. I have the same problem, but my shape went almost all across the screen. I sent it in to Pentax, as it was still under warranty.
Problem?
Cracked lens. Not Covered by warranty.
Cost to fix? $250 Canadian.
Solution?
Buy another camera.
Good luck and hope this helps

First you have to check if the back light of the panel works fine . if it's okay ..
Then probably you have a problem with the T-con.
It's a small board at the back bottom side of the panel . Connected to the main board by means of LVDS cable .
In the camera options of your phone find the one that says ISO. ISO, in short words, is the sensitivity to light. When set to a higher value, pictures may appear too bright or show weird specs or artifacts. Ideally you should dial this up when in dark conditions and leave it at 100 (or the middle in the gauge of your phone) when light is optimal.
If the screen shows a picture but very faintly, the inverter is either not connected properly or faulty.
If there's nothing on the screen at all
1) Your screen is either not connected properly or faulty.
or 2) *********** board has a fault.
or 3) Your graphics card/chip has a fault.
You can connect your laptop to another screen using the VGA port on the back. You have to switch to the spare screen using the keyboard, usually Fn and another key. If the spare screen then shows a picture, *********** board and graphics card are OK, your screen is at fault or not connected properly.
Checking the connections to both the inverter and screen will require dismantling you laptop. If you go about this, ensure all power, including the battery is disconnected.
