Help I think my Yahoo Account has been compromised or hacked!!

I seem to be having problems with spam. My Yahoo Email account is sending out spam to my whole entire Address Book. Someone is spoofing my Yahoo Email Account with spam and my making my family and friends suffer. Witch I am not happy with. I have been dealing with this problem for many weeks. My family and friends say my Email account is sending them spam Emails. I also get Emails saying yahoo mailer daemon Or the Email gets duplicated. Almost every day the spam messages inside the body of my Yahoo email messages in my Yahoo account are different messages but then there will be times they will be the same. I changed my password on my Yahoo account. I also have 2 or 3 other Yahoo accounts they are getting the spam Email from my current account. If anyone can help me answer this spam and hacking problem that would help.

I should delete the mail that is in there.

I need to find the IP Address or the spoofers/spammers Email address.

Yahoo Help Service is not helping me much with getting rid of the spam emails.

I've tried to send in reports to Yahoo Help Service but I have not heard them back about the problem.

So I've been waiting and waiting.

That happend to me. all you have to do is log on to your yahoo account and change your pass code . when you leave your yahoo account make sure you log out every time. if you stay logged in theres a much bigger chance of it being hacked again. your passcode should be made up of some numbers, mixed upper case and lower case letters. after i changed mine the problems stopped.

You need to contact Yahoo. If you can change your password that will stop anyone else from using it. Make sure you also change your security questions as the hacker may have the current answers.

Once you have taken control of your account, then contact Yahoo and see if they can lift the ban. If it is just a case of someone has gotten your contact list and is spoofing your email address, there is almost nothing that can be done about that and should be a cause of a ban.

Best of luck, Jim

Yahoo help center

Many times, you can recover a hacked or compromised Yahoo! account after using on-site password-recovery tools.
The process can take a few minutes to complete, but once you are finished you'll be back in your account.
If the password-recovery method does not work, then you can always contact the security group at Yahoo! Inc. via email.
Of course, you'll need access to a secondary email address to message the company's support team.

Type "login.yahoo.com" into the browser's URL address field.
You are greeted by the Yahoo! account sign in page.
Click the "I can't access my account" link in the box on the right side.
Select the "My account may have been compromised" option from the choice of sign in problems.
Click the "Next" button.
Type your Yahoo! ID and security code on the next page.
Click "Next" to continue.
Select an alternative email address to send a reset link to.
This only works if you previously added a secondary email address.
If not or the alternative email address has been tampered with, then select the "I can't access any of the above" option.
Click "Next."
Answer the security questions on the next few pages.
You will usually have to answer at least two security questions.
Enter a new password and repeat the password when prompted.
Click the "Next" button to finalize the password-reset process.

My email was hacked by someone, now i cant access my email. how i can get my email back

Hi

E-mail accounts are usually hacked in 3 ways:

A weak or easy to guess password

Opening attachments in malicious e-mails containing spyware

Keylogger spyware infection on your computer that logs your keyboard strokes

The disclosure of the password.

Report it to Yahoo support by selecting forgotten Username and password on the login page, answer security questions that only you should know the answers to. Then ask them to block the account.

Then open a new account with a different username and take care of its security by creating a strong password that nobody can guess, never revealing it to anybody.

Also, never open attachments in e-mails from anybody you do not recognize.

Protect your computer as well as you can and scan it regularly for malware

I hope this helps.

I have some hack or virus that is sending emails from my yahoo account to my contacts with a link to a canadian company selling viagra and cialis, etc.. I want to stop this from happening...

Recently spam hackers have been hijacking Email accounts to use for their own dirty deeds and scams. The best thing to do is to deactivate your Yahoo account and make a new one.

Click here to go to the Yahoo compromisation web site and follow the instructions to disable your account.

The reason deleting the account is because these spam hackers are sending unwanted advertising to all your contacts claiming to be you. As far as you know they might even be sending emails to all your contacts asking for money.
There was a recent scam where spam hackers hijacked this lady's account and sent a message to all her contacts that she was stuck in Namibia and needed money to be sent to a specified account to get home.

To stop it, delete your email account, or if you are able to regain access, change your password to something a little more complex and define for yourself a few security questions only you would know. Another thing is just to contact all the people you had in your contacts and tell them that you account has been compromised and that they must ignore any emails received from it.

My yahoo email and facebook accounts have been hacked. I changed the passwords twice last week, trying to get rid of the hacker, but now I can't even access my yahoo account. My ex mother in law is...

Had you ever assigned a special question to your account that only you will know the answer?
It is clear to me that you have probebly use the same password for both your Facebook account and your Email.

You can go here and declare your account compromised. It will ask you for your Yahoo ID and to copy the provided code into the block provided.

Sometimes Yahoo mail servers are comprimised by spam hackers for spam use so don't go accusing you ex's mother just yet.

It would be a good idea to open a new account and tell all the people who you had in your contacts that your Yahoo account has been compromised.
There was a recent scam where hackers were hijacking accounts and sending mails to all your contacts claiming to be you and telling them to deposit large sums of money into a certain account as you are stranded in Nigeria.

With this in mind:
1) Declare your account compromised here.
2) Delete your old account.
3) Create a new account.
4) Assign security questions that ONLY you would know the answers to. (This is a major way in preventing this from happening again)
5) Send emails to all of your contacts that you had in your old account telling them of the compromisation and to ignore ALL emails from your old account.

Your rating for this solution is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Someone hacked into my account and sending out a virus I am connecting from aol

Guess what? As much as it seems that your account was hacked, it wasn't. Someone "spoofed" your email address as the "Reply To".

Example, If I send a spam email message from my HotMail account and then "adjust" my email account to have the "Reply to" set to "jmamadonna06 at aol", then YOUR AOL account will start receiving the "non-deliverable" messages and hate mail.
Nothing you can do about it, even if you change your password.
We all have to deal with it ... so relax ... your email account was not compromised.

My email address is [email protected] . Please tell me why my account is blocked?

Your account may be blocked by yahoo for 2 reasons.

1. Your account has been spamming or
2. Your account has been reported for abuse.

If you are not the one doing those spamming or abuse, then your account might got compromised. It is advised that you get a new yahoo account since your blocked yahoo address was already harvested by spammers or spambots and was able to used it to send out abuse or spam. Make sure you secure your new account by using a strong password.
