My deleted yahoo account [email protected] that had compromised is still sending out spam emails to my contacts. How do I get rid of this account completely so that my contacts do not receive spam emails anymore? Since this account has been deleted, I do not have access to it anymore. Please help!

that happend to me. all you have to do is log on to your yahoo account and change your pass code . when you leave your yahoo account make sure you log out every time. if you stay logged in theres a much bigger chance of it being hacked again. your passcode should be made up of some numbers, mixed upper case and lower case letters. after i changed mine the problems stopped.

Access your E-mail account from a different computer and then try sending the email to your friends. Your computer is probably infected by an automatic E-mail sending virus/malware. Update your anti-virus software and then do a FULL virus scan of your computer. If you don't have an anti-virus software, you should get one. You can get some for free or free trial. Avast and AVG are highly recommended.

You should change your password immediately. It happened to me one time, I couldn't sign on to my yahoo messenger and the software advised me to change the password.

Something that you opened has 'read' your contacts list and sent a spam message to them all.

The reason deleting the account is because these spam hackers are sending unwanted advertising to all your contacts claiming to be you. As far as you know they might even be sending emails to all your contacts asking for money.

To stop it, delete your email account, or if you are able to regain access, change your password to something a little more complex and define for yourself a few security questions only you would know. It is clear to me that you have probebly use the same password for both your Facebook account and your Email.

With this in mind:
1) Declare your account compromised here.
2) Delete your old account.
3) Create a new account.
4) Assign security questions that ONLY you would know the answers to. (This is a major way in preventing this from happening again)
5) Send emails to all of your contacts that you had in your old account telling them of the compromisation and to ignore ALL emails from your old account.

If this was a real order the email address would be something like: [email protected], not [email protected].
And the order number would not be stated in the title for privacy reasons. So chances are this is a spam. I would have deleted it too.
In the future, when in doubt, just put the email in the spam folder and wait if your package arrives. If it doesn't ask the person sending it if the number correspond.

Your Yahoo email or Yahoo Messenger account was most probably compromised. The virus is running a script that automatically send out SPAM or abuse emails to all your contacts save in your Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Messenger account. Your account may be blocked by yahoo for 2 reasons.

1. Your account has been spamming or
2. Your account has been reported for abuse.

If you are not the one doing those spamming or abuse, then your account might got compromised. It is advised that you get a new yahoo account since your blocked yahoo address was already harvested by spammers or spambots and was able to used it to send out abuse or spam. Make sure you secure your new account by using a strong password.
