Intercom does not work - RCA 25404RE3 Corded Phone

While the intercom or speaker phone is in use, you set the volume. Same as with the ring tone but it has to be used to set volume.

Try pressing the intercom button (base) above the number 1, on the handset the intercom button is below the # button.

After reading the manual over and over with no success, I got the hint to successfully do an intercom call by reading a post from a website.. The manual says to press the Intercom buttom. Then select the phone you wish to intercom with (or All phones) - do this by using the up-down button. The step left out of the manual is: THEN press the MENU key. It works perfectly!!

There needs to be an additional instruction. I am having the same problem. From standby mode, I press Intercom, the screen says "Please wait" for 2-3 seconds, then I choose a handset. Nothing happens. The user guide doesn't have any additional instructions after this point. I don't hear any paging or anything other than silence on any handset.

Wireless routers operate on 2.4GHz frequency. It's very possible that your intercom is in the same frequency range causing inerference. Try and find the frequency your intercoms operate on. If you can't find it on the unit, search the internet for the name brand and maybe you will find the info. If this is that case, (as I suspect it is), the only alternative I can suggest is to change your intercoms. Be sure to check the frequency of the new intercoms before purchasing. Anything but 2.4GHZ should work fine.

This works on a TDA, so I think it will also work on a TD. The key is 43. When you page someone, you can pick up that call via 43 which gives you an intercom call. Now, your transfer key works, putting the other intercom call on hold and giving you dial tone.

If you do not have a button to press to call him, you must press the intercom btn and dial his intercom # . to find his intercom # , go to his phone and dial feature 00. His intercom # will be displayed. press feature 00 to exit.

If you mean intercom, as in Speaker/overhead paging, then the buttons need to be reprogrammed to access the intercom. If you mean calling from one avaya phone to another, then the system is more then likely fried. from your system press the intercom button, 61. that should give you the paging access that I think you are looking for.
