I have lost my tv channels!

Our Philips TV has a constant bad picture and now I have lost it's channels! We have built in freeview into the tele and it is HD Ready but we can rarely get any digital channels and have to watch our 4 analogue channels. Can getting a seperate freeview box help? We live in Kent and have a very bad picture on our normal television in the kitchen! I was trying to find some way of helping the problem when I came across whether I wanted to add new services. I said OK and it scanned it and now I can only get BBC 4 and some of the Radio stations. I tried to reinstall the channels but we just have the same ones! I have looked all through the booklet and there is absolutely nothing that can help me! It would be appreciated if someone can help!

I have a philips freeview box (although it is not built in). I recently lost all my channels also. It took me back to the installation screen and started to look for channels, furthermore if it couldn't find any it 'bugged out' on me. The only way I got around this was by unplugging the aerial, watching the screen trying to scan the channels and when the progress bar / channel # was near the end plugging the aerial back in. For some reason this started the scanning over again but this time it found channels! Strange I know, but maybe its different for me and one of those conspiracies that they program products to fail after a few years to make you buy more. Try this and let me know if it works Thanks Matthew

Also, it may just be you are in a bad reception area. If you do have an external aerial and still can't get a good picture it may be an idea to invest in an indoor 'booster' aerial.

    Thanks

Philips 42pfp5532d 05 plasma tv won't store tv channels. when turn off then back on has to scan for tv channels again.

I had the same problem a little while after the digital change over, channels were all lost struggled to get the set up menu up but when i did i retune the channels as soon as you turn the tele off there lost again. but it works if you leave the tele on standby. 2 people have told me it's the battery in the tele itself.

I have a freeview build into my tv which is Panasonic plasms tv Model no. TH-46PZ8BA and wish to know how I can receive HD channels BBC or ITV. Please advice and help.

HD Ready just means the tv can display HD images from an HD source.

The built-in Freeview box on your tv is not Freeview HD compatible so you'll either have to buy a separate external Freeview HD box or subscribe to an HD satellite or cable service.

In any case, most built in Freeview receivers are of barely adequate picture and reception quality. An external box is usually far better in both respects.

Loss of BBC channels

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
