SOURCE: HP Slimline Pavillion s3123w monitor going to sleep.

Sounds like the motherboard might be bad but go thru these steps.

Unseat and reseat the memory one stick at a time in each slot one at at time and turn on the computer after each stick reinsertion.

If that doesn't get the video to come back up then go ahead and unseat and reseat the CPU. Then try turning on the computer.

If that doesn't do it, make sure there is no power going to the hard drive or the dvd drive. Then try turning on the computer.

If you do all of these steps and you still have no video, then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

The most likely problem here is a bad stick of memory.

SOURCE: Slimline s3123w won't boot.

If you get no video display at all, the BIOS most likely has failed. The motherboard can only be obtained from HP. The power connector is smaller than normal. I hope that you can get some video and then you could remove the battery for a minute or replace it and see if you can get to the BIOS setup.

First off, you need the model number of the TOWER that you are trying to replace the FRONTSIDE USB ports. Go to E-bay or Amazon and see what they\'ve got for THAT particular model.

if you need more specific help just specify the question and we can go from there.

computers are like puzzles, and for the most part, as long as you don't force anything and make sure everything is connected you should be in good shape.http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01765809.pdf

Someone hacked into my system and changed my windows password, now I cannot access anything on my own pc. It is a Pavillion Slimline

Boot your system with the bootable system recovery CD that either came with the system or you
created soon after initial boot-up. It'll allow you to create a system administrator password as
it reloads your operating system.
If you're running WinXP, it'll then need to have its (4) Microsoft service packs re-loaded.
If you're running, WinVista, it'll then need to have its (2) Microsoft service packs re-loaded.
Each of these service packs are free from
http://support.microsoft.com
Note that microsoft terminated support for WinXP SP2 (Service Pack 2) on 13-Jul-2011.
