Your software label template does not match the size label your printing on. Make sure your label size IE: 2.25" x 1.25" matches the template size in the software, then perform this calibration:

This could simply be old direct thermal labels. Direct thermal labels have a shelf life of about 1 year from the date of manufacture. After that time has lapsed the thermal coating on the labels begins to dissipate and this will cause labels to print light or faded. You can trouble shoot with a roll known to be fresh. I am unsure if this one is a ribbor printer or a thermal......
if thermal the paper might be too old or the print head is going bad. if ribbon try replacing the ribbon, or you have a bad batch of ribbons.

check the driver, and the setings from the driver. Try ZDesign Driver or seggul driver from WWW.seaguscientific.com, and print the testpage, chech the connection (port) if is seria (com) check the setings speed etc...

Try another roll of labels? If that doesn't help, it may have a problem with the sensor that checks the starting point of the label. These are old so it's easy and cheap to replace with a similar unit.
