K6 supercard - USB device not recognised

I've bought a K6 card for my DS LIte, but when I connect it up to the PC (running Vista Home Premium) it comes up and says "USB device not recognised" and doesnt run.
The DS shows it running USB Disk v1.45(8g)
I cant seem to locate any specific drivers.

Any ideas??

We have the nintendo ds lite and includes an r4 which is giving us an error on loading it just tells us to switch off the system, can you help? tried also the insert an sd card but its asking us the...

Hi Giagiu,

This problem is likely because the latest Nintendo based firmware doesn't actually support old R4 and fake R4i cards, only very specific R4i cards support it (namely the official R4i 3DS). You can probably swap your R4 card for a newer card like the Acekard 2i, Supercard DSTWO, Cyclo DS iEvolution, or frankly any of a number of cards that will work on the new DSi XL and 3DS consoles. I would personally recommend the Supercard DSTWO, though, I use it myself. It also has GBA emulation built-in which is kind of awesome if you want to play older games. The Acekard 2i is cheaper, but doesn't have the GBA functionality.

I'm not sure where you're based but if you're in the US, use "dsmagazine" as a voucher (I found this on an online DS news site) for DSCardWorld.com, they're authorised retailers of the Acekard and Supercard - I think also a few others. NDS-gear.com is probably better if you live in the Europe or in the UK though since they have cheaper shipping there. They still stock authentic cards so you should be all right either way.

Good luck, and please kindly upvote my answer if you've found it useful! :-)

I have a R4ITT card and when i turn the ds on it is not recognised so can you help and i have already tried blowing in it loads of times so do you have a solution.

Hi Craig,

The error is occurring because you updated your DSi to the latest firmware. Once your DSi console has been updated to v1.4.3 firmware it cannot then be downgraded. If you are using a genuine R4i 3DS card (check on the r4dsrevolutioncards.com website by the way, they do a pretty good guide on the different types of genuine / fake cards. Also see r4dsrevolutioncards.com, they're pretty useful for R4i card info) then you should be able to update the firmware of the R4i card through the "Settings" menu of the R4i. You need to do this on a 1.4.2-or-below DSi console, or a DS Lite though.

NintendoDSCards.com has an info page and a video to show you how to update a legit R4i card (NOT fakes) - click here to visit the 1.4.3 R4i Update page.

If you're using a fake card (such as the R4i Gold, R4i Ultra, R4iTT etc.) then it's quite likely the card simply isn't supported and you'd need to get a new one. Your best bet is to buy an authentic card and simply buy something decent that's upgradable. DS cards unfortunately don't last forever, and teams eventually stop supporting the cards - but the fake ones are terrible at this to be honest!

I personally shop with dscardworld (www.dscardworld.com) and they're great, but that's because I live in the US. I used to live in Sweden and if you are in Europe then nds-gear (nds-gear.com) are just better if you live outside of the US/Canada in my opinion, so pick depending on where you live. Both of those shops are authentic retailers of R4i, Acekard and Supercard by the way (probably others too but those are the ones I've used).

If you're getting a card for a 3DS / DSi console I'd recommend a Supercard DSTWO since it's pretty much just awesome and you can play Gameboy Advance games as well on it. But if you just need a basic card or you're using it on a DS Lite / DS, I'd get an Acekard 2i. Up to you really, I think both of them also stock the genuine R4i's but they seem to be going out of fashion these days.

Hope I've helped, good luck!

Unable to read sd card

Hi grecko, Hope this helps, I've just bought a 4gb memory card for my daughter's ds so she can fit 58-60 games instead of 28 on a 2gb memory card and have downloaded and put a file onto the memory card before loading games onto it.

Supercard DS one have a site where you can download the files you need and it gives help. Guess it's the same if using an R4 supercard too but I bought an R4 card for partner preloaded with software.

Problem with a supercard

Are you using a flash cart? I'm assuming you are. You've not provided much info, but have you put the operating system on the transflash card? You need to visit the flash cart manufacturer's website and download the os, follow the instructions they provide to put it on your transflash.

K6 supercard

You have to access the SuperCard memory and delete or make a backup of some of the files in the card to make place for the save files.

Usually sellers fill the flashcart memory to make it more attractive because buyers think as many games, it is better. But they dont consider the space needed for each save file and that is why so many lack of place errors and flashcart blockings...

I am not sure what type of flashcart is that but there out are only 2 classes and the ways to access the memory to make place:

1. Internal Memory FlashCarts: as the memory is embeded you do need a flashlinker or link cable to access the memory. If not included with your card you have to call your seller and ask for it, or directly buy one specific for your cart.

2. External Memory Flashcarts: these ones are much easier to access as you can take out the flash memory and plug it on some easy to find flash memory reader, usually one is included with the card.
