Top thread would not come out and get tangled to bobbin pole. how can i fix it?

I took my sewing machine to brother dealer to fix this issue... but i thought it was related to thread tension. i turned bottom thread so much to adjust by ignorance and not possible to sew... when i got it fixed, woman demonstrate it on fabric and sewed. perhaps i have been putting bobbin wrong but i saw that top thread gets caught on bobbin pole (would not rotate around bobbin to pull through at top). i have feeling that bobbin is not secure the way i put... please educate me what i am doing wrong. thank u for ur time

The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

SOURCE: Brother Industrial Machine Tension

This is an answer to another person with a similar complaint. Try the suggestion below, it may fix the problem.

From your description it appears that you have tried tension settings on the upper tension control adjustment knob without success.
Check that the bobin tension is adjusted correctly by taking out the bobin complete with the spool.
Pull the cotton thread and it should be a smooth light pressure if the tension is correct. If it is tight to pull or pulls freely then adjust the tension screw which is found on the outside of the bobbin. The screw is very small and requires a minature size screwdriver. The adjustment will only be a slight turn of the screw one way or the other to obtain the correct tension(depending if it was loose or tight).
Once this is set reinstall the bobin and tread up the machine, hopefully with the upper tension set at approx."2" the machine will sew correctly.

SOURCE: Shirring fabric?

When putting your shirring elastic on the bobbin, don't thread the elastic through the bobbin holder, adjust the stitch length longer, and loosen the tension, other wise if you want to put it through the bobbin holder you have to loosen the tension screw on the bobbin holder, and then you have to adjust it back for ordinary sewing,

I have a brother sewing machine cs6000i problem. I receive an E-6 error code, even if I remove the top and bottom threads. The motor makes a terrible noise with or without thread. Help! Monica

Hi there
Q: What does E6 error message mean? A: The motor locked up because thread is tangled Q: How to fix E6 error message? A: Do the following:
  • The upper thread could be tangled. Remove the upper thread and any loose threads. Raise the pressure foot, raise the needle to its highest position and rethread the machine.
  • Remove the bobbin and bobbin case to clean any lint or loose threads. Install the bobbin case so that the projection on it aligns with the spring. Then install the bobbin into the bobbin case.
  • The needle could be bent. Replace the needle making sure the flat side is facing the back.

All best take care Clive

First the top tension started being loose, so I changed the tension different ways and tried to fix it...now the thread is getting all tangled up under the fabric and is locking up. Also giving me the E6...

Do you mean the stitching on the top of the work was loose? If so, you should check the bobbin tension. Make sure you have the thread pulled under the tension plate or spring on the bobbin case. Tension should be just enough that you can suspend the bobbin in the case by the thread (think yo-yo). Upper tension should be tighter than lower. Make sure you put the presser foot down.

Worked great until the needle broke and now the bobbin thread bunches up

Hello

Clean out the bobbin area if there are any thread tangles there.

If the bobbin does not fit snugly into the bobbin case, then get new bobbins. You need class A or 15 and they do not cost very much. Make sure they are plastic and not metal.

Refer to the maintenance section of the manual - see the configuration of the bobbin case and shuttle race? The bobbin case as an extending arm and the race a notch. When inserting the bobbin case into the shuttle, turn the handwheel so the needle is at it's highest position. Then lift the lever on the back of the bobbin case and insert the cast into the shuttle, arm pointing straight up toward the bed of the sewing machine.

Now thread the machine with the presser foot up - always - and see if the tangling stops.

There should be a tension setting for your bobbin thread, as well as your top thread. It sounds to me like your bobbin tension setting is not in sync with your top thread.

most common solution to this is to remove the top thread completely from machine and re thread it with the presser foot UP not down. This will allow the top thread to engage properly in the top tension disc

I keep getting an E6 error message - tangled thread. I think it's the bobbin thread that's getting tangled, and I can't figure out why, or how to fix it. Any ideas?

It could be that the bobbin is being put in upside down check to make sure that you do not need a bobbin with a magnet on one side. also make sure there is no thread tangled inside the bobbin housing it will cause the timing of the machine to be off and cause issues with your needle picking up the bobbin and thus cause a mess inside you bobbin housing

Bobbin tangles up thread and jams machine

Hi, Is it your bobbin thread or the top thread wrapping around the bobbin. I just got a used PE150. The top thread keeps wrapping around the bobbin. It is not picking up the bobbin thread. Did you find a solution for your problem?
