In the middle of a Halo3 online game, the picture went "grainy". I turned the console off to see if that would clear it up. No luck. Since this event, the console seems to turn on (light on front and I can actually turn the console on/off with the wireless controller), but the LCD TV simply says "Not supported mode". Any suggestions??
This is a long-shot but...
If you can, using a different Tv. check the 360's video output settings ( Dashboard, My Xbox section, System settings?) -Maybe it updated at some point and automatically changed the original settings. Some( if not all ) 360's have a specific setting for HD output.
Also, check the Video/audio output cable from your Xbox to Tv, for a while some 360s came with a cord that could be changed between Component and RCA.

I had the same issue with my Samsung 42" HDTV and Xbox 360. It had worked for almost a year without issue then the picture went grainy while playing Call Of Duty 4. I unplugged the console and game from the wall for about a half hr based on another forum recommendation. This fixed it for about 2 weeks then the picture went grainy again and back to "not supported mode". I've tried everything for a fix including different component cables etc and nothing seems to work.
i was playing NCAA 09 and then the picture started changing from reddish to bluish.then i turned it of and turned it back on and it still did it. then i waited about 3 or 4 days and it turned on and everything, but there was no picture or sound.i knew it was working because i knew how to make start a game without seeing the screen so i did and it started the fan like it does regularly.then i switched from HDMI to component and it still didnt show up.then i thought it my be the TV so i switched TVs and it still didnt show up.i went to xbox.com and that didn't help so now i came here.
