Not enough information to give any meaningful suggestions. Please, state the following:

OS name and version - In the mean time, I can offer some generic suggestions.

If your LAN connection is built into the motherboard and was working before, chances are the drivers weren't installed properly when you re-installed the OS. It could also be an issue with your Comcast application - Assuming you are using WIN XP, RIGHT click on My Computer, then <PROPERTIES> then, <HARDWARE>, then <DEVICE MANAGER> - if you see any Yellow Warning Marks next to your LAN adapter it's likely the drivers that are not installed. That would be easy to check. If you don't have any Yellow warning marks then, all your hardware is ok and the problem is caused by something else.

Make sure also that you are allowing your Comcast app to automatically set internet connection, instead on Windows.

You can download the LAN and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. CAN'T CONNECT TO THE INTERNET.

ok then try these

Solution #1:
go to dells website (from another computer this one can't)
go get the drivers for the LAN or nic. install them see if your internet works then. if not move on to solution #2

Solution #2:
type open command prompt and type in ipconfig

this will bring up a bunch of numbers (ip addresses) we want the "default Gateway" write this down or remember quick and type it into the address bar of your browser (Internet explorer, Firefox, etc) press enter. you should get one of 2 things either the settings for your router or something asking user name n password. if its the user name password try (if u do not know what it is) admin for both if its not then try password as the password. once in there restore your to your factory settings.

I'm playing a game called animal crossing: City Folk on the wii and in order for me to get a friend code i need the internet and I don't know where I put the ethernet cord at on the Wii. Can you...

You will need a device called a Wii LAN adapter, which will connect to the back of the Wii console, and then connect to your Ethernet cable. Since the Wii is not packaged with this device, you must purchase it from Nintendo's site, or at retail from a store that has the Wii's LAN adapter in stock. Fortunately, Nintendo's Wii LAN adapter is not expensive at retail, and most compatible with the console.

Nintendo's Customer Service (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWiredTS.jsp) is very helpful to answering questions regarding the Wii's Internet connection in great detail once you have a Wii LAN adapter.

If you have a internet modem connect the lan cable from the Modem to the router's Wan / Internet Port.

From the Lan port you can connect to the system . Or use wireless fuction to connect computer to router

. If you are using wireless then just scan for wireless network from your system and connect it when the wirelelss network got visible

I reinstalled XP and cannot connect internet

Most likely, XP does not have a copy of your network adapter driver and you will have to install it manually.

1. Get the make and model of your network adapter
2. Try DriverGuide to look for your driver if you do not have the CD for it

We have comcast internet and we were woundering if we can hook up the wii to the comcast internet modem through a usb cable if so we hooked it up and we dont know how to get the internet on the wii.

No you can not directly connect using the usb connection.

You need to connect either wireless through a router or you need a wii LAN adapter to connect with the Ethernet cord.

Good Luck....

Connection Comcast router to wii

Error Code: 52021 What to do will depend on how you are connecting your Wii console. Please use the info below that describes how you are connecting.
    Connecting directly to a modem:
  1. Power off the Wii. Connect the official Nintendo Wii LAN adapter to the Wii, and insert a working ethernet cable into the official Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter.
  2. Unplug all devices from your modem. Most modems are unable to support more than one device at a time.
  3. Power cycle your modem. To do this, unplug the power from your modem and let it rest for 20 seconds. Plug the power back in. Connect the Ethernet cable from your Wii console to the Ethernet port on your modem.

  4. If the connection test fails, try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, and DNS information. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the settings listed above. Input these exactly as they're listed into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection.
  5. If you are still unable to connect and you are using broadband Internet, then your ISP likely uses PPPoE to establish a connection to their network. The Wii is not compatible with PPPoE. Contact your ISP for more assistance.

    Connecting to a router:
  1. Ensure that an Ethernet Cable is running from the WAN or Internet Port on the router to the modem. Power cycle the modem by unplugging it from the electrical outlet, waiting a moment, and then plugging it back in.
  2. Power off the Wii console, and insert the Wii LAN Adapter into one of the USB ports on the back of the Wii console.
  3. Run an ethernet cable from the Wii to a numbered port on the router.
  4. Power on the Wii console, and run a connection test through the Wii console's online settings.
  5. If the connection test fails, try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's settings on your PC:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the settings listed above. Input these as they're listed into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection, except for the IP address. The IP address needs to be different. Add 10 to the IP address and use that number in the Wii console's settings.
