No you can not directly connect using the usb connection.

You need to connect either wireless through a router or you need a wii LAN adapter to connect with the Ethernet cord.

Good Luck....

My landline is hook up to ciso an thats hook up to netgear how do i make calls out

If it's a cable modem you should have your phone landline connected to the cable model, if you have a "bundle". TV, Broadband, Phone with your provider. For example: I have Comcast/Xfinity bundle, TV, Phone, High Speed Internet. At the Comcast Modem it has a Phone jack RJ-11 for landline and Fax and a RJ-45 for my Wireless Access Point and Ethernet cable.

Set up difficulties

You sure can. Start w/ the Comcast modem as long as it is NOT a USB type and hooks using a CAT-5 cable (regular network cable). Hook the comcast modem to the WAN port of the wireless router. On the back of the wireless router use the normal 1-4 extra LAN ports to hook other computers or the SD208 switch to it and other computers from there.

Word of advise if using Wireless Router, be sure to read manual and set a KEY for your network to secure it from unwanted outside use.

Trouble connecting netgear wireless router to rca modem DCM425

First try connection the Yellow ethernet cable from the rca modem to your computer's network connection. If you get a connection this way, then your modem will work with a ethernet cable. If not, then call Comcast for help. The modem ethernet out to computer port must be connected to the wan line of the router. Then you can connect an ethernet cable from your computer network connection to one of the 4 ports of the router. For wireless connections you must set up the router and wireless adaptor with the same settings to connect. Follow the routers directions.

Trying to install router for wireless

If that's hooked to comcast you can only have one computer hooked up to it, and no modems as they block mac address. If you are a Comcast customer there is a workaround. Turn on your wife's wireless if she hasit, if not get her a wireless card USB is easiest. Turn on sharing on that wireless card and you will be able to access the internet through your wifes computer, and not run afoul of your Comcast agreement. Or request an upgrade to a wireless router from Comcast but your rent goes from $3.00 per month to $10.00!

Cannot share my cable modem connection

You need to connect a router to the cable modem.  The router then gets an IP address from Comcast and provides a gateway between the computers connected to the router.
The modem expects to communicate with a single Ethernet device, and provides an IP address to the first device that provides a piece of data called a MAC address.  By placing a router in-between, the router gets the IP address that lets you communicate on the Internet.  It provides local IP addresses to the equipment connected to the local Ethernet and "routes" those to the Internet.  You can either hook your two devices into the router if it has enough ports, or hook you switch to the router and hook your PC and PS3 into the switch.

Cant hook up cable internet

You need to contact your isp, they would be able to send test signals to your modem and make sure your modem is functioning properly, then they could help you troubleshoot.

RCA DCM 425C Modem USB driver

I got a different modem from Comcast....a Motorola. Then I got a Belkin USB network adapter. You can plug in an ethernet cable into the Belkin and plug the other end into the computer USB input. This works well for older laptops that have no ethernet input. Then you call Comcast and they configure it over the phone and Viola! It works. So if you have an older laptop like I have, get a Belkin F5D5055 Gigabit USB 2.0 Network Adapter. Plug it in to your USB input and then plug in the enthernet cable from Comcast. Hope this helps someone.
