SOURCE: Jura Capressa E9 Leaking
Your spout is probly cracked (a common problem). It won't hurt the machine if you want to live with making one cup at a time to catch it all.
If you want to get it repaired go to www.hotncold.com Click on Jura Repair for shipping instructions. We can turn the job around in 24 hours. The repair will also include a free software update.

I emailed the company again and they are replacing the thermal carafe at no charge. Thanks!
SOURCE: Jura Impresso E9 not dripping through spouts but into drip tray
This is most likely due to a bad o'ring. The bar you speak of...Does the unit have a small spout pointing upward from the area?...with a groove? Is the o'ring in that groove damaged or missing? When the grounds are compressed in the piston, the brew unit lowers down onto this spout and seals on it. The high pressure water then is injected upward inot the brew unit. When this seal fails the water simply leaks into the tray when there are grounds providing backpressure. When rinsing and no backpressure some of the water may be getting through. Make sure you lube up any seals with a food grade lube. Olive oil will work in a pinch.

SOURCE: Jura z5 after filling system said coffee ready
Someone online sells a special screwdriver head used to open the Z5. With it, it's possible to take the machine apart, clean up the coffee ground dust that gums up the moving parts. You can giggle sensor switches that get stuck. The water lines will need decalcifying eventually, even if you use the the Clearyl water filter cartridges. If you're not up to taking machines apart, sell me your broken Z5: [email protected]

Same problem here with my Jura Ena 5 - seemingly clogged spout with coffee leaking out of ...well, wherever it can come from - cracks, seams, etc... Ever have any luck with disassembling the machine or having it fixed?

I was able to finally fix... you can take the front cover off the pour spout by squeezing the sides of the cover and then pulling out and then lifting up. The cover is held in place with small clips on both sides of the cover and by squeezing together on the sides, by the "grip" area, you can release the tabs and pull forward and then up. Once you have the cover off, you can disconnect the clear plastic tube and clean. I used a pipe cleaner to run up into the tubing. Reassemble and it works great. Hope this helps.
By the way, when I contacted Jura customer service, they were no help. They did not tell me how to snap off the cover which is the key to this fix. I was nervous at first as I did not want to break the cover, but now that I know how, it is easy. Not sure why customer servious did not suggest. They stated that the spout cover could not be removed.
