I have a roper rtw4440v washer water will start to fill then stop after a few seconds the have to reset and it does the same thing on hot or cold

Have you unplugged it for a couple of minutes to see if reseting it will clear out the error

Check your cold water inlet for water flow. The filter screen might be clogged with debris. If there is no debris, you might need a new water inlet valve. It relatively inexpensive and easy to change. You can find them at any appliance supply outlet.

Hi just read your posting.Now put the machine to a spin cycle and push start,Does the noise happen in this cycle? If the noise doesn't happen then try a cold water fill but turn the hot tap off first.If the noise still doesn't happen then try a hot water fill but turn the cold water off first. This noise sounds like one of your water valves is faulty.Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure we can rectify this fault.

This model of washer has something called an Automatic Temperature Control. This means the washer puts water into the tub at specific tempreatures instead of just 100% cold, or 100% hot. Be sure and check that the hot and cold fill hoses are connected to the proper places on the back of the washer. It's possible that the ATC (mentioned above) is causing the washer to fill slowly on the cold setting.

plz dont take this wrong but you say it fills and WONT STOP?? does the unit over flow on the floor?? or you need to let me know because the last part of your question states a diffrent problem..is the hot water valve on?//plz answer my questions and we can go on.

This could mean the fill level is not working properly and there is an overfill situation. Generally[I don't know 'Roper'] the fill level is controlled by a 'bottle' like device at the fixed to the outside of the drum at the bottom with, with a fine tube leading to a disk like thing near the top of the machine- with wire coming from it to the controller. The 'disk' thing is the pressure sensor. and the bottle thing is supposed to fill with water and the air pressure in the tube actuates the switch in the 'disk' Overtime the 'bottle' will get clogged with crud and need cleaning out. This will mean taking it off and giving it a good cleaning. Hope this helps.

By the sound of it, it sounds like you have somethng stuck in your pump stopping the motor. Start with this first. Remove the cabinet and the pump sits right in front, two clips and two clamps and it pulls right off. I will attach some photos to guide you. In the case that you need a new pump the part number is 3363394. Easy job...Catriver..post back
