Possible there is a sync issue as the return pulses do not come back to lock the scanned channels. This can be an issue which can vary from a simple loose connection to a fault iin the signal processor. This would need the help of a serious probe with a signal tracking using a scope and assisted equipments. Take consensus as this can be tricky before you tamper the board.

Need the remote code for a phillips dvd player

These are the codes printed in the owners manual for your dvd/vcr player. If they do not work you will have to contact Emerson and ask them for help getting the code. The contact number should have come with the instructions for the remote. Just give them the model number of you remote and the units model number and they should be able to help you. I hope this information helps you with your problem. Switch the input selector on your TV to an appropriate external input channel (usually near channel 0).
Press a button on the TV’s original remote control that selects an external input channel until the DVD
recorder’s picture appears. Check your TV owner’s manual for details.

TRying to get my PC to TV converter up and running

I just purchased the Kworld 1600 PC to TV Game Box today. I also had the same problem as many others seem to have had. The TV screen displayed only colored bars. After searching on line for troubleshooting ideas I finally was able to correct the problem, thanks to help of people responding to these problems on "FixYa", and I thank you, as I was ready to return the product at a loss of 15% of the cost (restocking fee).
I am using a Toshiba Satelite L350D with Vista Home Premium and a 2005-32"JVC TV.

First ensure that the Monitor Y-cable supplied has been properly installed to your PC and your TV (my first mistake). Each plug is individually identified, that being, TV, monitor, scan cnvtr.
Second, on Vista go to Control Panel, open (Double left click) the personalization icon. You can then open your display settings.click on advanced settings, this will open a window for your graphics card. Click on "List All Modes", use an 800 x 600 High Color Mode, 16 bit, 59 or 60 hertz, hit 'OK' and that window will close. Then hit 'Apply' in the Graphics Card window(the screen will go black and then set itself to the new mode). You may have to try a few different 800 x 600 modes to find the best one for your TV.
Thirdly this converter is only for video, not audio.
For audio you must use a 1/8 stereo plug from your PC headphone jack to an RCA adapter into the Left and Right Audio Input of your TV.
Make sure you are using the same Video Input Section for both your audio and video (Video1, Video2, Video3, you cannot plug the video into Video1 and the audio into Video2).

After setting this converter up on my Laptop I was also able to plug it into my 7+ year old desktop (Cicero P4, XP Home Edition).
I hope grouping these 3 problems into 1 will help others and save them some time and frustration.
Thanks again to everyone on "FixYa" for their help.

Car dvd

I called Sony and they zipped me right through it, without asking for a credit card! They have fantastic customer service! Just for that reason, I will continue to purchase Sony products!

Power up your player by pushing the power button on the screen. Press input, then press the down button on the left, selecting NTSC for all inputs (Video1, Video2, Video3, and Video4). Your screen will immediately flip back to color and be as good as new!

The fix was so easy! Hope it works for you too.

Connevting to an LCD TV

This will vary by TV model, but some televisions route external signals to a separate video setting, often only reachable through the remote. Try looking for a "video" or "input" or "mode" setting on your remote. On my TV it's a "video" button that toggles from channels to Video1, Video2, Video3 and Svideo, then back to channels.

If that doesn't help you, let me know the exact make and model of your TV and I might be able to find something more specific.
