my husqvarna royal 48 has same problem. My dog chewed through the cord and now I need to replace it, looks like the top of the mower where the cord comes through is actually riveted to the machine so I can't take it off to replace the cord

There will be a piece of casing that holds the starter mechanism in. Usually held by 4 screws (probably torx screws unless it's an old machine).
Undo these screws and you will find the cord carrier inside.
Observe how the starter dogs are located, and how it all goes together.
You may be able to remove & replace the cord without taking the carrier off the casing, but it is probably easier if you do.

Then you simply remove the old cord, thread a new cord through the hole & tie it. Reassemble the carrier onto the casing. Thread the cord out of the casing & through the handle, tie that end.
Then wind the cord around the cord carrier until there is a slight tension on the spring.
Screw the casing back on the mower and you're away.

Husqvarna 325L x-series pull cord repair.

From my experience, the trick is to pull the cord all the way out, then attach the pull assembly to the engine, and let the pull rope win back in place. hope that helps.

You need to obtain the model number off the engine and go to a website that has small engine parts, and likely schematics. Enter the model number and find your engine and when you get a list of illustrated parts drawing select the one for the starter or recoil strarter or some such listing. This will give you an exploded view illustrated parts drawing and you need to find the broken parts. Take the number that identifies it on the drawing and look to the associated table. This will give you a part number and allow you to order it.

I hope this helps.

The pull cord to crank up the weed eater is not pulling out.

You can try replacing the cord with new, failing that if the cord is sticking on starting, and releasing the cord, you will need a new starter clutch, you should check with your servicing agent first before commencing work,as sometimes these are not worth repairing, rgds

Starting issues. Can't pull cord.

Make sure your flywheel brake is not engaged or the cover is hindering the mechanism somehow after it is installed
