I have a Denon AVR 2802. No sound output when adjusting master volume knob. When trying to solve the problem, I found out that I can achieve sound output by pressing the CH vol button and adjust individual speaker vol. But when ever I switch mode for example analog to digital or switch input source, sound output becomes NIL again.

Try to reset. Unplug the unit, press and hold speaker A and speaker B buttons and plug the unit in outlet. If doesn't help, the unit may have a problem with microprocessor or dsp boad and need to be serviced at a repair shop.

Denon AVR-2802 Optical Issue

If you look at page 16 of the user manual it tells you how to assign the devices to the optical connections. Once this is done it should work.
If you don't have the manual just type "denon avr 2802 manual" into Google and it will show a free PDF file of it. On my search it came up first!

Denon 2802 amp

Dear Armani,

You cannot put de leads from an MP3 player or your TV into the pre-amplified connection of your Denon,
the phono "stage" is a low input stage, your input from MP3, TV, CD, DVD oscasetteplayer is high output (a 5 to 10 times stronger signal)
Try every other stage like tape 1 or 2, this will work just fine,

After playing my AVR-2802 Denon a while approx 3-4 hrs the sound output juts turns off, after letting it cool down a while it will resume playing ok , then repeats the cycle of loss of audio output.

Seems to be a heat related issue, when it " cools down " awhile it resumes audio output? Be sure you are allowing air circulation around the receiver, I am note sure but I do not think Denons have inboard fans, you could try a ciculating air fan on the unit after playing it for a couple of hours if the receiver feels hot.

If DIGITAL sign blink, this mean DSP board is defective. It will cut the sound on the AMP section. DSp is maybe defective.

DENON AVR 2802 (NO SOUND)

If "Digital" sign blink on front panel, it means DSP do no start properly. If DSP do not start, main UC mute audio. Change IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N: 262 3010 006).

No sound from my brand new speakers

I am assuming you have tried new speakers on used unit on both A & B choices. Have you tried your new speakers with old 2802? If they work OK with old unit, you have problem with amplifier in used unit. Take the used 2802 to a reputable shop and have it thoroughly tested. Perhaps it is just a loose connection.
