Question about Denon DRA-395 Receiver
Unit just shut off - standby/power light starting blinking rapidly.
Unplugged unit to see if it would reset - to no avail. Standy/power light still blinking rapidly.
Any ideas?
Try pressing the power, and multi speaker button at the same time. But first turn the unit off...then press the above buttons at the same time...This is for the SR6001... GH

This unit went into protect either due to overcurrent or dc detect. There is no way to disable protection that Marantz or Authorized servicers are allowed to give out. The early versions of this model all you had to do was unplug for a few minutes then plug back in and unit if it did not have blown amp unit would powerup and work fine. But if amp had failure it may cause more parts to fail so they changed software to not allow users ability to disable protection. Send to Marantz Authorized servicer for them to check for amp failure or mayby they just have to disable Protect Mode.

Your receiver has DC Offset, meaning a damaged amplifier. If you are interested in having it repaired, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

My solution< looks like I won't be buying a Marantz any time soon!! Although wanting one of these power houses for a long time, I'm afraid to buy one now! This is why warrenties should be at least 5 years.

I have exactly the same problem! Sometimes when I turn the input dial it comes back on but this time it is out for good. I have tried re-wiring and unplugging etc. nothing seems to work.

I have a SR7001 with that problem. I found 2 shorted amp NPN & PNP transistors. Part #'s SAP17NY & SAP17PY.

PROTECTIVE FEATURE
In some cases, the STANDBY indicator may blink slowly, twice per second. In this case, turn off the unit, unplug the power cord, and check the following points.
Make sure the speaker cables are not reversed and connected to the wrong sides (+ and -) on the unit.
Make sure the speaker cables connected to the unit are not shorted. (Check both the unit end and the speaker end.)
Make sure the volume does not exceed the level that the unit is capable of producing.
When using the unit in a rack or other enclosed space, heat may build up inside the unit and cause a fire. When installing the unit, be sure to leave suffi cient space between the top, back and both sides of the unit and walls or other AV components to prevent the internal temperature from rising.
After checking these points, plug in the power cord and use the remote controller to turn on the unit. Turn down the volume before resuming playback. Confirm that there are no problems with the speaker connections and playback performance.
If this symptom recurs, request service at your nearest service center.
In rare instances, the unit may enter standby mode and the STANDBY indicator may blink rapidly, 8 times per second. In this case, unplug the power cord and request service at your nearest service center.

Unit is in standby mode (standby light flashing).
Pressing power button on front panel has no effect.
pressing power buttons on remote has no effect
cycling power has no effect (unit goes right back into standby as soon as power comes back on).
unplugging/replugging power (unit goes right back into standby as soon as power comes back on)
unit is plugged into Panamax PM 5300-PM line conditioner switched bank,
so I don't thnink this could have been caused by power fluctuation.
Very distressing.
Yep. I have the same issue. System shuts down after a short period of time even after disconnecting the power cored for 3+ minutes. I notice the "protect5" appears on the dosplay before it switches off. Any recommendations?
I have the same problem. Unplugging does not help, neither does pushing the multi speaker button and the power button the same time.
Help please.
same problem 6003 just went to turn on zone 2 from start up
I have the same exact problem with a brand new marantz 8001. fast blinking light and cannot get it to turn on. really annoying. at least i have a sexy black box for my $1500...
Bought this unit in November 2008 from Kromer Radio in Toronto. In January 2009, the unit simply shut down and went into protection mode. Kromer has been of little help so far, simply suggesting I unplug it and starting up again in a few minutes. That worked the first time for a few minutes, now it can't be restarted. As this is a discontinued system, Kromer only offered to up sell me to the next unit or take this one back to the factory for a repair for a few weeks. I am concerned that a "fix" will not last. Has anyone tried this route yet?
I have the same problem on an SR6001 which is about 10 months old. I've since sent it back under warranty so will wait to see the outcome. My unit went into this protect mode about two or three times a month after being on for about 20 minutes. A simple power off and on would clear the issue and the unit worked fine.
How can I reset the Marantz PM 7004 Amplifier when the standby light is blinking?
