Camcorder keeping going into Safeguard mode

I purchased a JVC GR - DX78 12 months ago. However recently i have been having problems with trying to use it. Each time i put the Camcorder on, it keeps going into safe guard mode. I get the message: " E02 - UNIT IN SAFE GUARD MODE - REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY" Each time i remove and then reattach the battery, it still comes up with the same message. Also just a few weeks ago, i am also having problems in getting the tape out of the camcorder. It is not ejecting. Each time it tries, its make a noise and then stops. Can you please help.

SOURCE: Shows fault E04 remove & reattach battery

Do a search of this problem and you will ind that every JVC owner is having the same problem. I finally got mine "reset" by powering the unit on in payback mode while holding down the "play" button. Then, turn it back off and power it on in the camera mode while holding down the "rec" button. This seems to have reset it and I've not had anymore issues SO FAR!
Good luck with it.

JVC mini GR-D23EK Unit in SAFEGUARD mode E03 how to correct it

Hello. What I've found is that in dealing with the error codes your choices are very limited. You can try removing the battery and power supply for a while. This might clear the code, however, failing at that you'll be forced to send in the unit for repair--you are absolutely not alone in getting this type of problem--definitely get a quote first and keep "do I want to replace this unit" in the back of your mind....This is a JVC problem.---Rick

Gr-dvl-520u trying to record or playback tape it goes into safeguard mode within 5 seconds. alternatly pressing play and still every 3 seconds advanced the playback without it going into safeguard mod

According to http://www.techlore.com/article/10974/JVC-Camcorder-Stuck-in-Safe-Mode/,

"JVC notes that you are also given a malfunction code when the unit is placed into safeguard. If it displays code 01, 02, or 06 you should remove
the battery and powersupply and wait for a while. Code 03 and 04 indicate that you should eject and reinsert the tape.

If neither of these solutions work, your only alternative is to bring it to a shop or send it to JVC for diagnosis or repair. Unfortunately, there is no other way to clear the condition."

If you are getting E03 or E04 errors on every tape you try, it sounds like a servicing is required.

My camcorder goes into safeguard mode EO3 when I try to clean it.

I have had the same problem with a different model JVC. I haven't been able to fix it yet, but there were a bunch of people on a different forum that were able to fix that error code quite simply. With a tape in the machine, flip the lever to eject the tape, then as soon as you hear the motor start to whir, quickly close the door.
It didn't help me, but like I said, several people reported that that action fixed the EO3 error.

I had this same problem, and indeed it was from leaving a tape in the camcorder while in storage. All I did was remove the tape and put a new one it. Solved my problem! Thank you!
