SOURCE: Deleting music from Sansa Clip MP3 player

You can reformat the player in Windows Media Player - this will erase all songs (or you can delete the songs one by one in Windows Media Player). Microsoft's website has click-by-click instructions on how to do this - complete with illustrations. Just enter "Windows Media Player" as your search term - it will take you to the Windows Media Player help files.

SOURCE: I have a phillips mp3

Before you send the player off to Philips, try the repair procedure.

Make sure you have Philips Device Manager installed on your PC, and open it.

Press and hold [VOL+] whilst connecting the player to the PC.

Device Manager will report an error with your device.

Follow the on-screen prompts.

NOTE: ALL DEVICE CONTENT WILL BE DELETED.

If the player still doesn't connect then roll-back all of your USB drivers.

I want to delete old songs to put on new songs?

You should have gotten some form of a USB cable or way to connect the MP3. When you connect it, instead of opening the media player, open up your computer options("my computer") and open folder to view files. Then it should give you an option to delete files. (If you want to delete all of your previous media press Ctrl a to select all of your media and then press Delete)

once you initialize the mp3 mode and you show a song you want to delete hit the mode button again and it should give you the option to delete a file(song) or delete the folder(all the music). You just have to scroll to the option you want and hit ok(or you center button)

My player deleted songs

Several options:
1) You can delete the songs from the computer itself using Windows Explorer. Be careful to only delete music files, not system files.
2) Use the format option on the player itself - will erase everything.
3) Delete the songs using Windows Media Player

After selecting one of the 3 options, you can then reload only the songs that you want onto the player.
