Won't turn on; won't turn off

My new I.Beat emo has been fully charged. I have tried to copy converted video files from my PC (Windows XP) but it does not complete the copying and freezes my Windows Explorer. I end the program, try again, and same thing. (By the way, Explorer no longer recognizes it as an I.Beat EMO but only as K drive). I have now safely removed the hardware and unplugged the USB cord. The I.Beat EMO now will not turn either on or off. It just regularly flashes a screen at me that reads TrekStor I.Beat EMO.

Now what?

Thanks for trying. I doubt if the memory was full since I had only tried to load one 256K file and the unit has a 2GB memory. I did press the reset button--that's what got me the on/off effect! I'm definitely open to other suggestions!

The video may be glitched or the memory is full. Try unlocking the unit by pressing the reset button with a paperclip. It's located just below the on/off switch on the right side.

Hi there,

My pics for I. beat emo

That is pretty easy...
when you get pictures, they need to in bmp format, or any
other format pictures are in. Just copy your pictures to the picture folder in your trekstor( plugin your trekstor to your computer) and paste in that folder. You don't need to convert anything for this process.

Can't find video I loaded

When you get your video, it will be in formats such as, wmv, mp4 etc., so, when you buy the Trekstor, there will be a cd disk. You might not bother loading it into your computer, but the disk has a video transcoder, which will convert most of the files to .smv. You have to have the .smv format in order to load videos to the trekstor. So follow all the insturctions in the trancoder, and be sure to go to the settings tab in the transcoder, that will tell where you smv formated video will save. After that, put in all your settings you want your video to be, high quality takes longer and wait. After that's done get that video, open your trekstor video folder( plugin you trekstor to your computer) and save the video there.

Video

You can upload SMV files directly to the player.

1.) Download SigmaTel's Transcoder program, version 4.00 is the current release.

2.) Convert your AVI file. Use 128x128 resolution.

3.) Copy the SMV file to emo's MVIDEO folder.

Files in the wrong resolution will show in emo's menu, but won't play

How many albums can I put on trekstor emo2 gig i beat mp3 player?

This depends on bit rate or quality and format. If wma then more space will be required. I use 192k which is the highest rate. I can put 3 hollywood movies from my purchased DVD's and store them on my emo. I do this in Ubuntu, the new African Operating System. I first convert the DVD to Mp4. Then I convert the Mp4 to SMV with a program http://www.cs.bgu.ac.il/~yurac/interests/smv-encode. This program allows you converts mp4 to video.mp4.smv. Emo can hold six motion pictures at high quality due to its 2G storage. But, what I do is use 1GB for video and 1GB for music. I am 50 years old and work at a customer service center. On breaks and at lunch I can listen to fm stereo, mp3 from cds, motion pictures from DVD in smv format with high quality, look at pictures from my photo album and of course do voice editing at work or on the road. I can upload the wav dictation files at full quality to my computer and email them to whomever. Camcorder files can also be converted to SMV video this is important.

My i.Beat emo will not charge

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
