Compatible changer My son's KD-SX780 was stolen from his car. He can't find another one to buy to replace it as it's been discontinued. I am trying to find something comparable that would work with the changer he currently has in the car. (Do I need to know the model # of the changer to ask this question, I wonder??). Assuming the changer he has in the car was working with his KD-SX780, can you recommend another CD player that he could buy to replace the stolen one, or a particular model series that are all compatible with his old one? Thank you. (I am trying to surprise him so haven't done too much digging about the changer model).

Thanks techman, I will definitely let you know. There is a great small shop in our town that does this kind of work and we can probably go to them. I will let you know how it turns out and thanks for your advice! That is too bad about all your problems with theft, wow. Sorry to hear that.

Vicki As far as I know almost any high end JVC will match a compadable changer from another JVC product I say on MOST they will but to be sure IF I was you I would go into a automotive audio store like ABC warehouse or any good electronics store. NOT the super stores like wally world!! there salesman will be able to tell you if its compadible but your gonna need the model of the changer or borrow your sons car and they will look at it as a matter of fact some stores will even install the dash radio for free if its a simple install after you buy the radio. Hope this helps as I know what its like to get radios and equipment stolen from your car as I used to live in NY and in a period of 5 years I got 4 cars stolen and 12 audio systems stolen.!!!! GOOD LUCK and lets know how this turns out??

JVC KD-SX780 All of the sudden--just stopped working.. If you touch the "display" button--the display does come on briefly--otherwise nothing.. Any ideas??

There is a grounding tab on the back of the unit just above the antenna connection. This must be solidly connected to a GOOD ground. Found out the hard way myself. Once ground was established, I never had that problem again.

CD magazine trapped in Ford CD changer, no power to release

there is a way to get it working with the ford radio as long as the ford radio is cd changer compatible. You can purchase an adaptor from a dealer of autoleads. They also have a website. http://www.autoleads.co.uk/ were you can find out if its compatible and what lead you need. As far as i can remember with the jvc changers there is a seperate lead for power for a changer which you have to earth to the body of the car aswell have you got this

Strange noises when changing songs

I have had two of this exact radio and wish that the first one had not been stolen.Just a quick question, do you have any subwoofers or a disk changer installed in the vehicle? With my replacement radio (it is very picky about operating temperature), I have noticed that cheap audio cables tend to produce feedback that is mostly heard between songs and a bad j-bus cable will cause feedback from the disk changer.

Face plate replacement

You can't find faceplates for card decks since that will defy the safety feature.
